Mandating an ID to vote is just a poll tax with extra steps. Set up a toll-free number that will help people with every step of getting an ID that cost them nothing, then it stops being a poll tax.

The goal isn't capitalism for the sake of capitalist, it's capitalism for the sake of consumers.

Our big brains make us capable of being so much more than the primates we evolved from. At the same time, our brains make us capable of being so much less.

Every now and then, I buy a lottery ticket, not because I think I'll win, I understand odds. Whatever I end up daydreaming about, this is what I work towards trying to do but without millions of dollars. It's surprising how many of the things I day dream about are attainable.

Trump is complaining that China has too much influence in Central America. His response is to threaten to steal their property, which will give China even more influence in th America's. When given a choice between doing business and someone stealing from you, it's not a tough choice.

Here is what's wrong with the United States. Poor people buy into capitalism thinking we get ahead through competition. While wealthy people cooperate to keep their workers poor. Worst, the wealthy use the government, benefiting from socialism, while convincing their workers socialism is evil.

In the past, when you had a high school graduate, you had a worker who could do basic math, read, and write. Then we made it a goal for everyone graduates, regardless of their ability to do math or read and write. Now, a high school diploma doesn't mean anything for hiring someone.

Everything is interconnected and interdependent, yet our minds experience isolation. Our ego’s, our sense of self creates this isolation. Buddhism teaches a Path to remove the self and live in the interconnected, interdependent world. All is one.

If we want affordable housing, we could place a progressive tax on square footage of housing versus occupancy. The more square footage per person, the higher the property tax. This would motivate building smaller houses and apartments/condos. This would need code changes as well. It will take time.

A person who is overweight has a small flaw that is very visible. The person who insults someone for their weight has a very large flaw that isn’t visible.
