Today my sewing drag name is Fussie Cutts.

They're so stupid that if you stuffed all their brains into a bumblebee it'd fly backwards.

That moment when a friend posts, "I'm thinking about knitting a [name of hideous pattern redacted]," and you narrowly stop yourself from replying, "OMG WHY".

[Expat Diary: Helpful Local] My wagon train stopped at the Les Halles Sephora to pick up supplies, and I came to the aid of an English lady who was asking the puzzled saleswoman* for the "île des cosmétiques." 🧵

Warmed up just enough to sit and knit for a little while in the garden of Palais-Royal. First time wearing my linen stitch scarf in a rich and subtle grey-lavender-brown from Canon Hand Dyes. (Linen stitch will be the focus of the next educational series for my Patreon patrons, launch date TBA.)

Immensely pleased with the transition from the first half to the second half of my Victorian Duet Scarf (the subject of the current KAL in my Patreon group). I decided to use a different color for each half, both Cricket DK from Anzula.

Pausing to admire my progress on "Victorian Duet," the 1880s scarf KAL that began this past weekend in my Patreon group. At the second or third knitting circle I ever attended, a more experienced knitter scolded me for stopping too often to look at what I'd made because it was slowing me down.

Saw a dumbass comment on a friend's feed from a Trumper who joked that next Dear Leader was going to rename the San Andreas Fault after Gavin Newsome. Haw haw haw. I replied that it's probably the one thing FOTUS wouldn't name after himself, since nothing is ever Trump's fault.

I know these are scary times, friends; but I just started a new skin care routine and now I feel sure that things will get better.

Fashionable café-goer on the Rue St-Honoré today. It was sunny and fair, and simply tout le monde was out for a walk.

You've got a letter from Paris! In which I walk a mile for a Balenciaga. www.moderndailyknitting.com/community/le...

In the workroom armchair, the hood awaits its bind off. The air crackles with anticipation.

Linda had warned Peggy not to cut her own bangs.

Reached the next try-on stage for the hood I'm making (no pattern, though I'm writing up all the steps and methods for Patreon). Slipped off the needle and onto scrap yarn to avoid distortion while checking the fit.

"Darling, next Halloween you should go as Louis Quinze." "The king?" "No, the sideboard." I just crawled out of the Louvre Couture exhibit. Holy cow, is it big. Wear comfortable shoes.

Self-soothing by playing with my mood board. Yes, I have a mood board.

In case maybe you thought some of them were getting it, a trumperina just told me our protests against the coup-in-progress are "whining." They're living in an alternate reality. Keep calling. Keep protesting.

My Patreon group is going to have a dandy little knit-along. Details via the link... www.patreon.com/posts/announ...

I'm doing a monthlong photo-a-day fiber arts challenge on Instagram, and today's prompt gave me a reason to sort out the cases for my collection of antique needlework tools. Here's a smattering.

Making emoji parmesan for supper.

Walking home after a friend's birthday dinner I passed by Notre-Dame. This group is in the left-most of the front portals, and includes dear old St Denis, one of the city's patrons, holding his own head. That makes him (all together now, Patreon patrons!) a *cephalophore.*
