#OTD, 1862, in #POTUS #History, Abraham and Mary Lincoln’s 11-year-old son Willie died of typhoid fever. He was the second son they lost. Many families, including my own, had children who died in infancy or at a young age. I’m glad healthcare and safety have improved from back in my day.
