The fact that the State Department is planning to open an Office of Remigration didn't get even anywhere close to the attention it deserved. Remigration is explicitly a European far-right/neo-Nazi word that in Europe refers quite explicitly to ethnic cleansing beyond simply immigration enforcement.

We need to build some real social stigma around being afraid of cities. You don't have to like them or live there, but a politics built this strongly around watching TV and going "ewww" is embarrassing, and people should be embarrassed by it. It's like "fear of werewolves" being your top issue.

“This could poll well with midterm swing voters in Ohio” I remark sagely as I watch a fourth grader get bundled into an unmarked van at recess by armed and masked agents of the state.

This is a really important science and public health story. 🧪 www.theguardian.com/fashion/2025...

Absolutely right.

They're all in a group chat coordinating their propaganda.

Voyager was launched in the 70s and only left our solar system in 2012. We're not gonna be colonising jack shit in the 2030s. The nearest star system is 4 light years away. Voyager hasn't even travelled a "light day". We don't have to parrot top execs talking points when they're demonstrably false

The nearest star, Proxima Centauri, is 4.24 light years away, so we'll need to develop light-speed travel, build a ship that can self-sustain for multiple years and set off by about September.

CNN captures LAPD forming a line before charging at protesters and firing at them

100% The one and only good thing about this country is the variety of people that call it their home. Every manifestation of this that I can think of is pretty great. And aside from the land it's built on, there's not much else to recommend it.

it really doesn’t matter if someone is in america illegally or not. who cares, grow up

That's the current owner of The Atlantic on the left.

something I find frustrating at times is how many folks, on here or elsewhere, are willing to write people off who are pretty clearly on the same side because of one bad take they can definitely add up to the point that it’s worth writing people off but imo too many people set the bar too low

BREAKING: LA solidarity protesters in Austin are occupying JJ Pickle Federal Building, which houses local ICE processing center

why is the president the only person testing the limits of his power? everyone should see what they can get away with. what if zookeepers gave helicopters to gorillas? nobody has tried this

At no point in this entire article of 16 paragraphs does ABC mention that another cop killed this cop by shooting her in the back. Nor does it mention the name of the cop who killed this cop. Nor does it mention that the civilians involved never fired at them. ABC might as well be state media.

A lot of us have made the point more generally that violence abroad comes home, and now "imperial boomerang" seems to be a popularly-known term. But it's worth specifically pointing out, as this person does, that violence against reporters has never been so normalized thanks to the israelis

the fact that people were told “today you are going to an elementary school to lie to teachers and kidnap kids” and didn’t immediately tell their bosses to go fuck themselves is all you need to know about why ICE should be dismantled

the trump administration is literally coming to steal your children

This documentary just said a river runs for 100km as though that should be impressive and I couldn't help but smirk.

This talking point needs to die. This is not a thousands of years old conflict. It's a less than 100 year old dispossession and ethnic cleansing. The Nakba was 1948. Netanyahu gained power in 1996. This is not an ancient conflict. It's a colonial one.

BREAKING: A fourth court has found that President Trump's invocation of the Alien Enemies Act was illegal, seeking to stretch the meaning of "invasion" beyond its plain meaning. The ruling blocks AEA deportations in the Western District of Texas. storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...

What right exactly does Israel have to detain civilians sailing in international waters who have not launched any attack on Israel?

you feel like a big man, shooting an unarmed woman from behind? you fucking dickless cur. i hope you drown in your own piss.

I would like my friends and I to have 6 months where we have minimal responsibilities, so we can hang out the way we did in college.

protect your eyes, protect your head. "less lethal" munitions are lethal when fired directly at a human being and cops love to use them this way. pepperballs will take your eye out, a tear gas canister can fracture your skull. cops will kill you on purpose and by accident, all with impunity.

I don't care if these monstrous ICE raids are a "federal operation". This is authoritarian violence, plain and simple. Just because Stephen Miller has kidnapping quotas for brown people he doesn't want to see on the street doesn't mean we have to think it's okay.

If you are National Guard or Active Duty military and you are being ordered to violate the constitutional rights of US citizens then this is the number to the GI Rights Hotline. There is support. You don’t have to go through with it. 877-447-4487
