Glen takes a shower. Er, a bath. Er, well, a cooling off, any way :) #hiking #trailrepair #volunteering #ForestBathingForReal Still Winter but we have 80F degree days here in Southern California, TONS of hikers and bikers out today, always great seeing people using our trails and bike routes!

When I wait for someone, I lay down and wait, try to sleep even if it's 10 minutes. It adds up, makes for a less stressful day :) The sawyer stopped at McDonald's for what he calls "food," yuck. Can you believe people still eat that crap? #Hiking trail obstruction volunteer work this morning, joy

Joyce is out #hiking and getting over trail obstructions :)

You know what, I'm tired of hiking up this mountain, you assholes go on ahead, I'm going to park here. Write if you find work. #hiking

Some rootballs are intractable to solutions. This one on Pavil Canyon Trail we had to leave, the City would not permit us to blast it

I get to keep what ever I find in the forest!

Me when some hiker offers me a drink of nobody knows what, sure I'll take some! :)

Consume all the fried chickens you can eat, then have Satan expelled from your fat-stuffed carcass. #FourFriedChickens #AndACoke

5000 mile oil change, everything got cleaned. I do not have the clutch removal tool -- I can't find one that fits, damn it! Senix 55cc 4 stroke #hiking #trailrepairs #volunteering #chainsaw

Bryan, Windy Gap Saddle, six years ago with the crosscut saw. A lot of work clearing deadfalls from Little Jimmy and down Windy Gap. #hiking #volunteering

Jim and daughter, getting adventure along the San Gabriel River. I managed to get some hikes with he and his daughter as well as some work days :) #hiking #camping #adventuring

When Sunlight hit the canyon floor and the creek, mist as the forest drew in a deep breath and then let it out again to green the Sun #hiking #camping #volunteering

A rare white lion spotted in Kruger National Park! :)

Every day could be an adventure -- do it while you're still young, people! #Hiking #biking #climbing #camping #volunteering

Working on the Monroe Truck Trail Arch and the safety hazards, impalement and head bashing by bicycle riders who have reported the hazard fora month or so. Most of the #volunteer #hiking trail work was removing the bark and accumulated rock and soil, restoring the original width at this point

Check out the Monroe Truck Trail Arch and the safety hazards from 2 weeks ago, the work in progress today, and the final photo showing the improvement to safety. We need the Dalton Hot Shots to drop the Arch itself. The before/after photos for safety are stunning. :) #hiking

Collecting and stacking illegal construction dump debris, some of which has been in the Dalton Wilderness Park for decades/ The city hired a contractor to clean up but they left everything that was spread around so I got it piled, now the contractor can return and complete the clean-up

Lots of geese out making noise and flying in attack formation in the Dalton debris basin, always wonderful to lay in the damp dirt on a tarp at night and listen to them talking, flying in on instrument landing rules because it's dark, making a lot of noise :)

Before and after, L. A. County Public Works has been scraping the road, leaving the larger boulders for later :) Dalton Wilderness Park is closed because of rocks and mud coming down, including trees

Catitude. I needed to go somewhere but Peanut was too comfortable to move. So comfortable that he ignored the rain :)

I got hit in the hard hat by a bird this morning on Pavil Canyon Trail, something PWANNNGGGG!ed off of my hard hat and I looked to my right and saw a bird tumble for a bit, straighten up, and then fly off North. 🙂 That was strange, I've never had that happen before.

I have had nights like this :) Wake up to find the tent caved in and my feet outside the tent covered in snow :) Of course I wasn't sitting on three eggs keeping them warm at night unlike Jackie here who is "enjoying" the snow!

Jackie told Shadow that she wasn't finished sitting on the eggs and she wasn't going to budge so Shadow left without taking what he felt was his turn to sit and get comfortable -- and warm? :)

Shaolin, Andy Lau and Jackie Chan (who played a minor character) was stunning, the views of Chinese mountains and the replica Shaolin temple built in Zhejiang was perfect. The warlord turned Buddhist ended up rolling down Buddha's face in to his cupped arms with his death :) Stunning movie
