every beat lost on a slow Llama just came roaring back on that one

let’s get this show on the road. i’m going down to the central part of town

what a Phish show last night. up in the mid 200s, page side and i felt the building bounce for the first time (during YEM). the stops and slow(er) Moma intro. the whole step key change on a dime in YEM. finishing Ghost in what i think was G mixolydian giving it a very power rock feel. i melted

hanukah 5 x phish 2 at MSG. miraculously port authority and nyc cops didn’t mind us blazing up the chanukiah

Finished Lavie Tidhar “Six Lives” and so glad I paid for paper copy shipped from UK. Best read of the fourth quarter (so far)

BEAT tour in Atlantic City. Two months after catching them in Red Bank last night’s gig was even better - Tony having more fun with the bass lines and Adrian singing his heart out. Twin solos in “Sheltering Sky” stretched out close to 20 minutes and was highlight. I LIKE IT!

the jets invent ways to lose. bad penalties, bad qb choices and flat out embarrassing play

birds have landed. 4 1/2 hours in the smoker and 30 minute crisp run in the oven

current state: smoking pop up broke (4 years of rust, sea air and sand caught up with me) so it’s jerry-rigged. applewood smoke gently cooling 2 x 12 lb birds.

welcome to spatchcockus, nj home of the 5 1/2 hour turkey smoking jam (tomorrow at 7am)

i caught up a sort-of old friend today and it felt really good. i also dealt with an arrogant doctor’s office and it was less good. karma neutral.

goose “hungersite” with derek trucks guitar solo makes me like that song even more. extra crunchy #soulshine

no mistake: MSG is Trey’s room. #soulshine

Four Sessons Philadelphia (the fancy hotel not the landscaper) is a delight; from exquisite lobby and Jean-Georges to view to staff

tommy cutlets!! www.giants.com/news/tommy-d...

my grandfather’s 115 year old train watch, taking nj transit to nyc

on the theater marquee for first time ever. very spinal tap moment #orbie
