all the headlines calling Kat Abughazaleh, who has worked professionally for three journalism outlets, a "tiktok influencer," seems like a bit of that framing bias everyone in media swears they never do

I support all of those events

Intelligence.

my most conservative-coded trait these days is that i honestly think that the worst possible thing that can happen for young men is for the entire society to coddle them. what they need to hear is that they have one life to live and they have to take responsibility for it.

Thank God. Now free all the other innocent people.

🔥it is very important that the liberals are more bothered with the fact a journalist was added to a high security group chat, even that it's on signal THAN THE FACT THAT THE USA IS BOMBING CIVILIANS IN YEMEN–AGAIN

Doesn't this happen in a different form in basically every administration? Like part of Waltz's job (unofficially but totally understood) is calling Goldberg (or similar reporters) and giving info on background and off the record quotes explaining the admin's deliberations and policy objectives?

Not the main thing here, but EVERY TIME one of these white shoe lawyers comes in for criticism for representing evil or rapacious clients, they fall back on the cliche that everyone is entitled to vigorous representation, and the entire profession races to their defense. Now look:

it's worth pausing to consider how inured we are to presidential malignancy that nobody lingers on the question of whether trump cares about sending the wrong people to foreign detention camps. the answer is so broadly understood that it now passes without comment.

democrats are widely perceived as the establishment party and thus the keepers of the deeply unpopular status quo because they’re always at the ready to defend the establishment with knives out but drag their feet when it comes to defending us, with couch pillows

In which the IDF prison guard disavowed preemptive obeying

West Bank settler extremists deserve to be seen as the Jewish equivalent of the KKK in the post-Reconstruction US South: Violent extremists acting officially independently of the state, but with tacit state support, knowing they will not be punished. If you reject that comparison, ask yourself why.

We already know this—and they also boost our GDP. This isn’t new news. It’s just news Republicans didn’t want folks to know. And they have no plan on how they’re going to make up for the lost revenue.

More concerned about loss of opsec than loss of free speech

literally every day is going to provide more evidence that the "let's provide some votes for the least bad trump nominees out of respect for the presidency" was a boneheaded strategy. any idiot could have told senate democrats that any vote for any of these people was going to make them look bad.

Dems who have been silent as people are detained without due process but speak up when the sanctity of the security state is threatened are basically just fascists with anxiety about breaking procedural rules.

Barely aware? Or plausible deniability?

"I believe in the Palestinian cause. I believe this land is ours, and it has been the highest honor of my life to die defending it and serving its people. I ask you now: do not stop speaking about Gaza. Do not let the world look away. Keep fighting, keep telling our stories—until Palestine is free."

PLA officer in Beijing getting shouted at for not noticing Goldberg was also in the chat rn

Over and over, this is what the U.S. chooses to fund and politically back to the hilt. there are no words for our shameful and irredeemable this is

I think about this every time anyone asks about the Israeli hostages or deaths
