What I did yesterday- no pattern, I just wanted to make something colorful and happy. Yarn is Marino wool sock yarn. I just needed to make something more whimsical than socks

Sigh

So, I had this lovely yarn- mohair, wool, silk blend. I was gifted 7 small skeins. It has a strand of glitter spun in which made it unfit for any type of garment- the glitter is frankly abrasive. I was puzzled what to use it for. So I made a curtain for the single window in our library :) I love it!

Thinking of making more of these espresso cookies tomorrow for a thank you to a neighbor. Maybe a double batch cause they are so yummy! Now, where did I put the recipe?

My Calendar CAL for 2025 so far. I changed to a darker color because it feels like my world is getting darker. I am toying with adding dark purple scarves to the snow men.pattern by Nicki’s Homemade Crafts.

What is your favorite flower? My everyday answer is a dandelion because they are the ultimate FU flower- I will bloom where I choose! But my second favorite flower is whatever is currently blooming in my own garden. Nothing like seeing beautiful, healthy blooms dancing in the sun right where I am.

I started a year long crochet along (CAL) with once a month releases. I had to change the colors, but I am hopeful!

So, how is everyone doing? I am finding it harder and harder to look beyond my own tiny bubble, and interact with the wider world. I am trying, unsuccessfully, to come to terms with the awfulness of the country I have always been ok with, and the people I used to think were basically good.

My garden looks like an abandoned witch’s circle in winter, and I am 100% ok with that.

Crochet ornaments are just fun

Nibbler is a good dog… yes she is! Yes she is!

I bought bagel chips at Ingle’s today and at the register, they needed my birthdate to buy the chips… I have read the ingredients twice and for the life of me I cannot see why the birthdate prompt was triggered by bagel chips. I ate some and am not sitting on my couch waiting to see what happens…..

I am thinking of unfriending folks from meta platforms once I find them here, so I can keep track, and at some point just deleting those accounts also. This seems like a much better place to be.

I am so proud of the adults my kids have grown into ;)

And crochet hats… I have made sooooo many hats! Luckily for me Paddy will model them for me ;)

I absolutely hate that Levine Cancer Center is in my contacts list.
