I can see MHW being the point where people turn on the big AAA cinematic game. Ignoring we're in an economic crisis and $70 is a lot to ask for games, a MH game that doesnt encourage you to hunt monsters, explore, get resources or play with friends in lieu of dumb single player content just...sucks.

Replaying Tears of the Kingdom and I forgot how front loaded a lot of annoyances are. Grinding shrines so you have any stamina, get armor, cash to upgrade armor so you can take a hit, grind zonai so you can actually use buildables. And get hit by anything more than basic and you're one-shot. GLHF.

2nd MHWilds beta ran a lot better. Still not happy with the jank room system, but at least private lobbies make it possible to group up without pissing blood after. In game things ran mostly smoothly. Our friend had a weird gfx based crash, but hopes the full ver. doesn't totally suck are higher.
