Dan is right, why didn't he get a mate to film him quietly reflecting?

Travelling with work and staying in identikit chain hotels can be an adventure not only of discovery, but re-discovery. Like the fact that someone, somewhere still manufactures single-ply toilet paper.

More brilliant than expected. And, just for the record, if I had been recorded walking onto a podium like that (a 5 year old on a sugar rush) I would have collapsed into a small ball and immediately gone full Howard Hughes for the rest of my life.

Nicked from FB.

Wow. Bishop Mariann Edgar Budde fearlessly calls out Trump and Vance to their faces. This is heroic. (posting in 3 parts due to Bluesky's 1 minute limit)

The reply to which is - 'If she wants to talk about British debt she must explain why it went from one trillion to 2.5 trillion under her party's government. We are dealing with her party's mistakes over the last 14 years, without any suggested policies from her.'

What's the point of being rich if you can't afford to do the right thing.

Last night I finished bingeing "Johnny Jarvis", re-watching the 1983 mini-series that stayed with me for nearly 42 years. I can see why; whilst the gangland element isn't very well resolved the rest of it is still brilliant, particularly Mark Farmer as Johnny (RIP Mark). Highly recommended.

Whoah.... "Pithiest Summary of 2025" may already have been won.

Hmmm, I've had similar conversations with the family but for some reason the kids don't fancy it. Can't think of anything much better. Well, apart from having the family and the cat there too of course.

I don't know if I'll remember to come back tomorrow to do it, so let me be early and wish you all a Happy New Year. One positive side benefit of X being so awful these days is I have developed the habit of spending more time in real life.

I knew @mrrickygervais.bsky.social 's After Life would probably break me which is why I avoided it until my wife asked to watch it. The good news is that after it breaks you, it fixes you. Just sometimes you have to stop watching halfway through an episode to get the balance how you want / need it.
