Something Beautiful - Miley Cyrus Listen to full album for free

Totalling around 120 hours of observing time, this is the longest the NASA/ESA/CSA James Webb Space Telescope has ever focused on a single target. The deep field aims to probe the Cosmic Dawn, when the Universe was only a few million years old. Read more 👉 www.esa.int/ESA_Multimed... 🔭 🧪 ☄️

what you’re looking at is jupiter’s south pole. it’s so trippy, yet mesmerizing.

ICYMI, the NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope returned to the Eagle Nebula 🦅 This vast stellar nursery displays a towering spire of cosmic gas and dust, making the setting look like a curling party streamer or a plume of smoke from a blown-out candle. Read more 👉 esahubble.org/news/heic2507/ 🔭

A transmission spectrum captured by the NASA/ESA/CSA James Webb Space Telescope has identified the presence of water in the atmosphere of a hot sub-Neptune, TOI-421 b. Read more 👉 esawebb.org/images/TOI-4... 🧪

HAPPY NATIONAL SPACE DAY!!!!

here’s some cool space shit

starlink satellites are still a problem for ground based astronomy

idc whether the mass in my SPH is bright or dark btw

CMB is just a bunch of lowres noise. It could be anything or nothing as far as anyone can tell...

gotta stop gn

galactic capture (also perhaps a different explanation for galactic bar to what i said earlier...) (zoom-in for 5000 smoothed particles and random seed 256 (earlier seed for 5000 was 123))

sry for flooding your timeline (I'm so excited and I just can't hide it...)

and one 5000 particle simulation with different random seed

here is the mentioned "rocket fuel" galaxy (/cluster)

I think there were some elliptical galaxies in there as well... Or something like that...

> then the cosmological principle may be in need of a tune-up > spatial distribution of matter in the universe is uniformly isotropic and homogeneous when viewed on a large enough scale

Sceptical of slime mold algorithm... A slime mold doesn't rotate, does it?

> Unsolved problem in physics: The largest structures in the universe are larger than expected. Are these actual structures or random density fluctuations? Weell.... More evidence against Big Bang... At least in current form... With exact start date, size etc. So, actual structures, yes.

I think I understand now why many galaxies have bars: When they form they start like rotating strings of gravitationally bound matter. The bar in the middle remains of the string while the rest spirals up...
