NEW: The University of Michigan will end its diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives campus wide, the president said in an email

Love that republicans who KNOW a trans person are SLIGHTLY more likely to favor bans against child trans healthcare. Whereas everyone else their positivity is improved by knowing one of us.

They know they can't logistically pull off "mass deportations" they promises their base so doing high-profile, intentionally-controversial actions (which they turn into content) creates the illusion of mass deportations while enraging people their base hates

Wild to see this clearly in numbers that the Republican view is motivated primarily by bigotry given knowing a trans person increases their opposition, while anyone else that knows a trans person is more likely to support their rights.

New polling on the issue before SCOTUS in US v. Skrmetti

A stunning assault on the First Amendment Before Rubio's confirmation, senators and pundits acted as though he was a "sane," "rational," "normal," "moderate" nominee. He's constantly showing himself to be a right-wing extremist.

That Kristi Noem video with the detainees is so upsetting and the fact any sizable fraction, let alone a majority, of our society would endorse it is evidence of a deep rot in our entire culture. Like until you answer what fuels the appetite for that kind of thing it will only get worse

EXCLUSIVE: The Trump administration is discussing plans to try to block certain colleges from having any foreign students if it decides too many are "pro-Hamas," senior Justice and State Department officials tell Axios.

Hey Portland: the US Department of Education is investigating Portland Public Schools for Title IX violations. Namely, PPS is accused of allowing at least one trans kid to play a sport. So, great time to email the school board and tell them to protect trans kids.

i drop this when people are prone to click through to outrage bait in the nyt. 1—DON’T. that’ll make it the best performing piece of the day. 2—you don’t need to read it; jesse singal is a bigot who, like nyt, worked hard to foment this attack on trans kids 3—the nyt has always been like this

Huge stakes for abortion and trans care alike

Saw a video about this last night and it is truly the most ridiculous “calculation” I’ve seen in a long time.

What Rumeysa Ozturk is apparently getting deported over—signing on to a campus op-ed in support of a student govt resolution calling for institutional action by the university—is not just the essence of protected speech, but the kind of thing that critics of disruptive protest claim to support.

They are disappearing people off the streets They are disappearing people off the streets They are disappearing people off the streets They are disappearing people off the streets They are disappearing people off the streets

I understand the purpose and utility of centering these incidents but it would be nice if people just cared because other people's lives were being ruined and not potentially their own

I think he's trying to backdoor a national sales tax as a way to pay for income tax cuts. This "explanation" is just gobbledygook masquerading as a justification.

A cis woman was in the ladies toilet alone A man walked in shouting about trans people saying he was "defending women" Then they fired her I WANT TO SCREAM

No matter your station in life, there is astoundingly little separating you from those men in that cage behind Kristi Noem. No charges, no attorneys, no hearings, no trial. Just conjecture and brute force could be enough to justify completely dehumanizing you, too.

The absences are absolutely damning.

Almost disappointed we haven’t gotten the promised thunderstorms, at least not yet.

Hmmm, federal judges convened a task force on preserving the physical security of judges and independence of the courts This is fine.gif

Being snatched off the street for your opinions. I'll say it again. We are deciding, right now, whether the aspirations we hold for this country are finished. Whether we're going to let these hoodlums and grifters throw what's left of the American idea into the garbage for their own profit and gain.

NEW—After a day of uncertainty on where agents took Tufts student Rumeysa Ozturk, she appears to be in a Louisiana facility. 1400+ miles from Somerville, Massachusetts, where she was taken. A judge ordered to not take her out of state without 48 hour notice. She was detained last night.

Love having a chance for a tornado that’s about on par with rolling a nat 20 and the potential for hail up to the size of a tennis ball. That could be fun 🙃

I was kicked out of the house at 18 too, & my parents were also upset with the people that gave me shelter. This is 100% a control thing. The intent is for him to suffer, & him not remaining homeless ruins that plan. I'm glad this young man found a safe place to stay, & I wish him all the best. 💕

Alert: Transphobe parent Cynthia "Cindy" Stein of La Plata County, Colorado kicked her minor trans son out of the house, then when a trans woman and her wife took him in off the streets and gave him shelter, Stein called the cops on them with false accusations: www.durangoherald.com/articles/for...

The US Academy refused to offer a statement of support for a Palestinian director it had awarded an Oscar to while he was being illegally detained and tortured.
