Today is World Wildlife Day. The Crane valley supports a wide variety of animals and plants including seven species of bats, water voles, kingfishers, adders and eels, tawny owls and glow worms - and much more.

There are more tree works happening in Crane Park this week, coppicing crack willows, where you see the orange paint. We will be planting over 200 wetland plugs in the resulting wetland margins next weekend

Hardy Richmond @tcvnational.bsky.social volunteers were out hedge laying in the Crane Park rain yesterday despite the rain. They will be out again today and all are welcome to join them

Not too late to try to see this!

We love London's hidden rivers. We'd suggest adding the River Crane to the list of great places to walk!

This beautiful mosaic, featuring some iconic Crane Valley images, has been installed on the tool store wall by the tower in Crane Park by the council's Parks Department

The second edition of @cvp-cranevalley.bsky.social State of the Environment Report covering the Crane Valley is available online now. Click here to view: bit.ly/SoCER2025 or access it via the QR code below.

This young team were out litter picking during our volunteer day on Sunday - and one of them picked up the 10,000th drinks can since we started counting them back in December 2016. We picked up 250kg of litter over the day - including 282 cans, 120 plastic and 126 glass bottles.

This weekend brings our Volunteer Sunday. One of our tasks will be to remove litter (and Lime Bikes) from the river. Everyone is welcome to join us - please register via the website www.force.org.uk/get-involved...

The @cvp-cranevalley.bsky.social is hosting what promises to be a really interesting evening.

This is a great idea - thank you.

The Richmond @tcvnational.bsky.social volunteer team will be out in Crane Park on Wednesday and Thursday to build the second new kingfisher nesting bank. All are welcome to join them

A great opportunity to get involved in our community!

FORCE has submitted a formal response to the GLA’s swimmable rivers consultation. We are broadly in support and suggest the concept is broadened to consider “paddleable” and “healthy” rivers. Our response can be seen on the planning page of our website www.force.org.uk/what-we-do/p...

The brilliant Blondin Consortium are arranging a nice social tree planting event next Friday and Saturday in Blondin Park, Northfields. Please bring shovels and spades if you have them. Free hot chocolate at the end if the warm feelings of planting new trees isn't motivation enough!

A busy day yesterday in Crane Park for our winter count of the people using our local open spaces from Meadway to Donkey Woods. Thanks to the volunteers who helped out on what was a chilly day

Photographer Joe Dixey has re-scheduled his guided photography walk through Crane Park for Sunday 2nd February – meeting at the Hounslow Road entrance at 11am. The event is free, but booking required eventbrite.co.uk/e/reschedule....

A wintery scene at our pilot river restoration site during yesterday's volunteer event - a massive thanks to the nore than 20 people who attended despite the cold 🥶

Our next volunteer day is this Sunday 12th January and we will be working in Twickenham Rough and around Craneford Fields. All welcome - please register via our website force.org.uk/calendar/ite...

For those interested in the health of our rivers, this promises to be a great event to listen in to. Three knowledgable speakers discuss London's Super Sewer, including: - How London’s sewage system works and why it's in crisis - What difference will the super sewer make? - How we can all help

An important initiative. Even if you don't count yourself as an expert, the Environment Committee wants to hear from all interested Londoners via the survey below survey.alchemer.eu/s3/90781713/...

Our Friends at @cvp-cranevalley.bsky.social have posted this video which is a short montage of miscellaneous clips collected in 2024 at various riverside sites in the Crane Valley in west London. Enjoy! x.com/i/status/187...

We work closely with our friends at @brentpollution.bsky.social where we can. We would encourage our supporters and friends to give this some thought.

Rock star river campaigner Feargal Sharkey visited the River Brent recently. He praised the ‘heroic’ work of CURB, slammed developers for installing misconnected foul water pipes and criticised the regulatory authorities for their lack of action. www.lbc.co.uk/news/feargal...

@earthwormuk.bsky.social has posted to highlight that FORCE Trustee Rob Gray discusses the #RiverCrane #SmarterCatchment programme funded by @thameswater and the achievements and lessons to date. @CVP_CraneValley @FriendsRivCrane @LNHSoc @iGiGL eventbrite.co.uk/e/1044278664...

Welcome to Bluesky - what a great first post!

We are very disappointed to announce that we have postponed today's Volunteer Sunday due to bad weather and safety concerns. Thanks to everyone who signed up!

We are also holding a volunteer day on Sunday 8th December and have a few spaces left - we’ll be creating new habitats in Twickenham Rough and also maintaining the river restoration site at Craneford Fields. Spaces are limited but you can sign up here.. force.org.uk/calendar/ite...
