Re: tech-bro music cannibals. Artists should get those that love their work to sign a pledge to vote down Labour in any forthcoming election. Target marginal seats first. Do free gigs and festivals. Collect signatures to pledges as price of entry. Weaponise social psychology in their favour.

Delightful red fungus, surrounded by moss. It seemed to be growing on dead silver birch branches. Anyone recognise it? #FungiFriends.

Fomitopsis betulina. Birch polypore.

Talking of indie/self publishing - as I was, in passing, a moment ago - I am reminded that I run a tiny outfit called Lepus Books that offers a few titles that some people might like to buy... #books #writing lepusbooks.co.uk

Woke from a dream in which the Government had brought in a law, Clarkson's Law. It was a special tax. Just for Jeremy Clarkson. It took all his money off him, and built a hospital which they named after him. It was a very popular law.

Abington Street, Northampton. Work folk jet clean the life from the statue that celebrates one of the 3 determiners of DNA's structure. Never really liked the statue, despite being partly responsible for its existence, indirectly. Liked the fact that life had colonised it though. It will be back.

Domino heart.

It's been a bad day for the Dark Knight. The Flying Shark dragged him into the cosmic toilet.

I'm gonna save it for a rainy day.

In the darkness following Earth's fifth mass extinction, ants and fungi evolved to rely on each other. I'll tell you more in my latest for Smithsonian.

I helped poet and storyteller John Row (@johnrowpoet.bsky.social ) put his experimental autobiography together. It's available now. From him.

Lucky me.

As a teenager in Neustrelitz (East Germany), I painted small stones purple and left them all over town. Did it for years. It drove the police and Stasi nuts. It meant nothing. It just felt good to do something they couldn't control or understand.
