Random thought but I think part of why Americans aren’t as vocally opposed to trump’s takeovers is because a lot of Americans don’t understand the limitations of power of the executive branch. It’s the same vein as the “why doesn’t president fix (insert issue)” mentality. We think it’s normal.

Ida explained to you all that lynching was in fact about class. White people [poor AND wealthy] disproportionately went after Black people who they perceived to be 'upwardly mobile' to make an example of them. To specifically show that no Black person would be safe. Some people need to read books.

People are way angrier about Kendrick NOW because it took them until Thursday to figure out that there *may have been* more to the show than just some rapper they couldn’t understand who made them uncomfortable while there wasn’t a single white person in sight.

The consistent level of detail in everything Kendrick touches is astounding. That was one of the things that hooked me onto him from the beef: I could watch 4 different people’s reactions to it and all 4 would have something unique to say/point out. Kendrick Lamar is an artist.
