Watership Down was one of the first Criterions I bought along with Princess Bride. 📽️ Two films that have the distinction of being masterpieces, adapted from books that are the same 💙📚 The recent graphic novel for Watership Down is quite good too tbh. #filmsky

Omg I forgot how hilarious the intro to Scary Movie 2 was. 📽️ 😭😂 Put these in the Criterion Collection already 🎬 #filmsky

Watched 48 Hours. One of my all time films. Legit funny, one of the 1st big buddy cop films, & movie star making role for Eddie Murphy (21 when it dropped) & 🔥 Nick Nolte performance. 📽️ A Walter Hill banger w/ one of the great cinema villain names in Ganz. We don’t make these anymore. #filmsky

A little physical media break. Just got the new 4k release of Macross: Do You Remember Love? 📽️ DYRL & Macross is just huge for me and a beautifully animated film 🎬 and obviously the U.S. project based on it Robotech was a huge anime gateway for the west. Animation🔥. #Filmsky

Why does “My friends, you bow to no one” still have such power over me! 📽️ #Filmsky

At the beach today I started a reread of Robin Hobb’s Farseer trilogy. 💙📚 Just getting back to some fantasy reading. Hobb’s work has long communicated her concern and appreciation for the natural world. Also it just kind of kicks ass still. #booksky

Very different but after the Rush Hour rewatches I wanted to stay in the era + w/ Chris Tucker & watched Dead Presidents. 🎬 I’ve always thought this was one of more underrated films of the decade & a worthy Hughes Brothers follow-up to Menace II Society, which is full blown great. 📽️ #filmsky

As The New Yorker turns 100, its art editor Françoise Mouly says the magazine's distinctive covers are meant to give readers "a sense of what's going on in the world, but not through words."

I’ve always liked Constantine & know it’s based on a ❤️ Moore character & loved run that it doesn’t coincide much w/, I think the movie is so entertaining & high in my DC Comic film rankings. 🎬 Prob the 1st time I saw Tilda too (or Narnia), she pops instantly. Great Peter Stormare too. 📽️ #filmsky

Joined looking for mutuals to see what Bluesky is about. Hope I’m not too late. * speculative fiction 📚 * comics / manga & comic art * physical media * travel * film 📽️ * 4k Criterion and steel books * literary fiction 💙📚 * animation * video games * basketball 🏀 * football 🏈 * shoes #promosky

I’m now wondering if Rumble in the Bronx was the first complete vibe movie I ever saw. 🎬 It’s that or Tarsem’s The Fall. 🎥 Sorry been film heavy lately, Oscars are around the corner and I’m on my post travel media binging phase. 📽️ #filmsky

Just some #photography of the landscape driving around Japan w/ roadside sakura. We live in such a beautiful world, would be nice if there weren’t so many people making it their daily grind to be ugly in it. #travel #wanderlust

shouldn’t but caught myself still surprised when I see someone on reddit use anime’s as an example of bad when trying to big up their DC or Marvel animation and it’s so strange people can have so little eye for art and expression and yet be fans and readers of comics for decades. #manga #comicsky

Watching The Mummy (1999). A fun movie about nothing in the best way that gets the way many Netflix movies feel like they try to & fail. Weisz’s eyebrows are a choice + testament to her face because she’s gorgeous no matter what. Adorable & one of the great cinematic librarians. 💙📚 📽️ #filmsky 🎬

I know it’s late but with the Oscars coming up I think I have 10 favorite films of the year. Evil Does Not Exist Nickel Boys The Beekeeper The Wild Robot Look Back (anime) Dune 2 I Saw the TV Glow Didi Red Rooms Juror #2 I can’t think of anything big I haven’t seen. 📽️ 🎥

HBO/Max has the We Beat the Dream Team doc. Sports fans known about this forever but it’s cool to watch. 🏀 📽️ Jordan/Magic/Barkely/Bird Olympics team is legendary status but man Grant Hill, Penny Hardaway, Chris Webber is a squad. Penny/Grant pre-injury if you didn’t know you just don’t know. #NBA

Rewatched the first 3 Rush Hour movies It’s incredible how much presence/charisma Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan bring to an otherwise workman directed film. Tucker is so funny and was taken aback at seeing young Hiroyuki Sanada. Enjoyed watching them even tho they are all the same movie. 📽️
