Bari's meatball sub makes me feel things

Robertson I'd love, but it's clear Jed doesn't have the budget. Chafin would be great on an MiLB deal, but they chose Thielbar over him. They're simply no spot on the 26-man for him.

I'm actually in the group that is okay with it IF the Cardinals eat like $40M AND need nothing in return. Which isn't happening so not even worth discussing.

Moisés Ballesteros’ quads make me feel things

@mikepetriello.bsky.social Did I see correctly last week or am I going insane...Are we getting pre-2024 bat speed data?

Bah god that's Nick Pivetta's music

I'm starting to wonder if agents aren't properly communicating to their clients about the impact of deferred money...

I've kind of avoided it as a topic but with the way the rest of the bench has played out for the Cubs... Bring Tony home

As much as I hate the Dodgers, a pure salary cap should always be a non-starter in baseball, but a combo of stricter luxury tax penalties on the high end paired with a "luxury tax floor" is a good way to limit some things at the VERY top end while also encourage spending on the low end.

I would wager it's upwards of 2/$30M

"The other 29 teams should operate like the Dodgers" has the same energy as "this is what the world should look like"

The Dodgers make roughly $200M more than any other organization on their TV deal alone. The Dodgers current payroll is $370M. Take away the difference in TV revenue, and they're at $170M, which would currently rank 14th in baseball.

Something I think gets lost in all the Dodgers discourse. I don't care about what they're doing means for baseball. "The Dodgers are good/bad for baseball" discourse is beyond exhausting. None of that matters to me. I just hate them. Let me hate their guts in peace.

I expect the Cubs to at least be monitoring this market, along with all of the other higher leverage relievers.

Gavin Lux has a 99 career wRC+ and people think he can slide DOWN the defensive spectrum? A key reason why he’s getting traded at all is because he’s a 2B-only.

The Reds are deeply weird

I like Zyhir Hope as a prospect. The bat is awesome. I think throwing a 70 on Zyhir Hope and making him a top 10 prospect in baseball is a MASSIVE stretch

I think as things stand right now, we begin to see some clear tiers at the top of the STACKED National League. Tier 1: Dodgers Tier 2: Braves, Phillies Tier 3: Cubs, Brewers, Mets, Dbacks, Padres Cubs so far have firmly put themselves in that big group of playoff contenders.

The Cubs checked off #5 on this list with Caleb Thielbar (though depending on spending elsewhere you COULD still fit two more relievers). BUT 1 down, 4 more to go...
