It's Christmas week!

@davechen.bsky.social hey! In case you're not aware it seems like the last episode of the filmcast feed is pointing to an after dark episode instead of the Kraven the Hunter episode

The true differentiators are passion, taste and the ability to gauge impact AI tools are enablers, but they're mainly enhancers Passion drives you to keep at it Taste lets you drive the craft, direct it towards quality The ability to gauge impact guides you in selecting what matters most

The more I learn about what the DOJ wants Google to do the more I realize how stupid they are. I know these don't fit the traditional definition of monopoly but the App Store and Play Store are the real problem here. Not Chrome and Google's search index.

There's a cultural war already happening across the west. I find what's happening across Europe, the US, Canada, etc. sad and worrisome.

Farcaster is an economy

@bsky.app - bug report: I'm trying to add @helln0.bsky.social to a starter pack but your user search endpoint doesn't seem to return them since it also happens when @ mentioning them. (Even as composing this post it said "no results", see attachment)

Starter pack for Farcaster users go.bsky.app/S44eZHo

Folks are mainly here because they don't like the guy who made this possible.

I'm on Bluesky, Threads, X, Lens, Nostr, a Mastodon server and Farcaster. I've been using Farcaster and X daily for years now and will continue to do so. I might add Bluesky to my rotation. Not sure yet. Lens, Nostr, Mastodon and Threads aren't for me.

Which parts of your React Native apps do you fall back to write in native code for performance reasons?

I'm just getting into React Native and Expo these couple of months. By far what I like the most from using it is being able to push updates without going through app review. That's really the biggest win. Having a single codebase for both iOS and Android is nice but less important.

Who to follow for React Native stuff? Other than @danabra.mov

So am I going to get into some sort of block list in Bluesky because I don't hate crypto?

I would remove the user labels from the posts on the feed. They are distracting and useless. Just show them on the profile.

Bluesky themselves might not use the data to train AI but nothing is stopping others from doing so. Just FYI

Meanwhile on Farcaster

If anyone is interested in trying other Twitter alternatives such as Farcaster and T2, let me know. I have invites (especially for Farcaster).

Is there an AI Blusky community similar to how there is a crypto Twitter?

Which accounts should I follow to become a Bluesky DAU? At the moment my feed doesn't encourage me to be even a MAU.

I kept going back to Twitter out of habit but I get no value from that app. I'm moving it aside in favor of Bluesky. I'm still way more active on Farcaster though.

The reason why I'm pushing for embracing decentralization within Google. https://www.theverge.com/2023/6/13/23759942/google-reddit-subreddit-blackout-protests

Since the languages and frameworks we use today are designed to help humans read and understand code, in a world where Al does most of the programming, I wonder if the tools we use today will become obsolete as, at some point, there will be no need for humans to fully understand and write code.
