Also, I am going to fucking keep shouting it from the rooftops: posting is not praxis, reposting is not organizing, getting off Bluesky and calling your elected officials before going to feed a hungry kid in your neighborhood is approximately 100,000 times more effective a form of "resistance"

I don't know how much more clearly I can say to people that "having a lot of followers" is a miserable experience, people do not become public property when they pass a certain audience threshold, and raw numbers mean nothing: it's quality of conversation that matters

Ways to get a lot of low quality followers including spammers, scammers, and grifters:
1. Demand everyone follow you, use follow-farming hashtags, follow anyone you see on the site and never read your Following tab except to find the same six posts to repost, and whine about your follower count.
