Amid a challenging situation of governance, Gov. Hochul's suggestions are doable and should create stability in city government. As chair of the Oversight & Investigations Committee I look forward to supporting the measures in the City Council. My hope is that they move forward fast.

Credit to Gov. Hochul for refusing to stop Congestion Pricing. I was honored to attend her announcement.

Tech companies shouldn't be able to sell your private reproductive health data, especially now when women and families are under attack from state and federal governments. I urge @GovKathyHochul to protect NYers and sign the Health Information Privacy Act. www.timesunion.com/capitol/arti...

No surprise to me!

President Trump’s order to freeze trillions of federal dollars would cause starvation, health emergencies, and death. It is drastic, inhumane, and really shocking. I support and thank AG James and attorneys across the country who are challenging.

CAUTION: At my request, the NYS Dept. of Agriculture and Markets inspected Barzini's grocery store (2451 Bway) for unsanitary conditions. They found SEVERE violations and ordered the store closed on Weds 1/15 at 8:52AM. Barzini's is still open in violation of the order. I am trying to padlock ASAP.

New Yorkers know there is no such thing as a “productive conversation with the incoming president.” This meeting cannot be spun. Brass tacks: how is the mayor traveling to Florida, and at whose expense?

New: Groups on the frontlines of NYC's street homelessness crisis fear they’ll be forced to lay off dozens of staffers next month due to a $4M cut included in this year’s city budget. Mayor Adams' office has so far not acted on calls to reverse that cut. www.nydailynews.com/2024/12/17/l...

The death of Jordan Neely was a tragedy. The Manhattan DA made the right case to the jury. The jury made their determination. Many feel justice was not served, understandably. Where to go from here? NYC should start with better care for those with mental illness.
