Europe as “a haven” for US researcher - The EU’s research funding bodies are thinking of ways to welcome US scientists and European ex-patriots who might be looking for a more sympathetic place to work now that Donald Trump is in the White House #AcademicSky 🧪 sciencebusiness.net/internationa...

ppl arguing about whether the admin is stupid or craven or evil or what-have-you -- it does not matter why they're doing what they're doing. if a guy is going to stab me I don't care what his motivation is. I address the urgent question of getting stabbed less. we can dwell on particulars later

I'l honored to have joined the Paris @ellis.eu Unit ellis.eu/units/paris Thanks to @madelonhulsebos.bsky.social and @joavanschoren.bsky.social for nominating me, and @gabrielpeyre.bsky.social for leading the Paris unit.

The Trump DoJ lawyers pushing this stuff can’t be humiliated enough for my taste. So many people should spit at their feet that they need galoshes.

Techbio Transformers are coming to Paris on Feb 25th! RSVP for the meetup ⬇️

Proud of my team @Sanofi in helping to write this monumental review for the use of computational tools (both from an MD perspective and AI/ML) in modeling LNPs. We hope it will illustrate the power of computation as a complementary approach to devise enhanced delivery solutions for therapeutics.

Ledidi turns any genomics ML model into a controllable sequence designer by inverting the normal ML paradigm. Now, it is significantly faster, flexible, and more powerful than before. Available on GitHub and installable with `pip install ledidi`

This point right here (and the whole thread too) 🤌 Social science: research shows facts alone don’t change people’s minds Scientists in audience: nope that can’t be right, I believe facts do change minds Social scientist: exactly 👀

Something that's been bugging me for a while in bioinformatics data analysis is this overreliance on packages, workflows and what's been called "cargo cult science". Can we have more conceptual thinking, more theory? Asking for what we really want to achieve and what we need to do gets us there.

Jacob is one of the best scientists in the field of AIxML, you should strongly consider joining his group ! You'll also get a lot of pictures of his pets which are cute as hell <3

My goal is to understand the regulatory role of every nucleotide in the genome, and how this changes across every cell in the human body. If you are interested in doing a Ph.D. with me at UMass Chan Medical (Genomics and Comp Bio Department), see the links below. Deadline is Dec 1st.
