You'll have to excuse me as the last time I mentioned Spongebob was my favorite Magic The Gathering show, Avatar was not yet revealed to be a Magic The Gathering show.

Hopping on here to confirm that 1000xResist is as good as everyone says.

Sometimes I wonder if cinema peaked with High and Low.

Getting lost in a home depot looking for a specific piece of sink you didn't know existed two hours ago on a weeknight when all you want to do is go home and rest... Is... Well, it sure is a vibe, isn't it?

Ah, listening to the audiobook of Crime and Punishment while waiting for my family's tendies at the local Popeyes. Fuckin' a man. Pretty rad Friday.

I mean saying that trans people’s lives are worth protecting, that racially motivated mass forced migration is bad, and that DOGE is committing federal crimes all seem like layups But that requires actually believing in those things and not debating how much fundraising you can do off them.

Probably worth mentioning that I am working on a new essay. Trying not to rush anything so I can continue to make videos at a steady pace long term. It's about my time with Outer Wilds, Majora's Mask, and bardos.

Pretty busy weekend. Still not sure how I feel about Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. Also very concerned about my country. Well, see ya later.

I listened to one of the criterion commentaries for Memories of Murder tonight. One of my all time favorite films. Strongly recommend for any of you who haven't already seen it.

I've been trying to spend more time away from my phone. It's kind of sick how frequently I think to check reddit in between doing things before remembering that my phone is on the other side of the house.

I got friends coming over for some merlot and to watch the Seven Samurai film commentary. In other words, my Saturday night looking dope as hell.

Goddamn. Falling asleep to old GDQ runs is such a vibe. God bless you crazy speedsters.

For 2024 top flicks, I think I'd go: 1 Anora 2 Brutalist 3 Challengers 4 Love Lies Bleeding 5 Wicked 6 Dune II 7 Conclave 8 A Real Pain 9 Nosferatu 10 I Saw The TV Glow

Lynch forever changed the way I consumed media and considered art. I'm not sure if any other singular person has had as much an effect on the way I parse the world around me. I know DFW isn't de rigueur these days (rightfully), but he puts it better than I can. www.youtube.com/watch?v=YRVN...

The brutalist slaps. Can't wait for part 2.

Watching John Cassavetes movies and drinking cheap wine. Been that kind of day, hasn't it?

Any gdq-enjoyers out there? What are everyone's favorite runs? Had fun with GTA, Lies of P, and Rex Ronan myself. Overall great lineup this year.

Hey I'm back on youtube! youtu.be/LclId3_93ck

Mr Wendal, all time great video game essayist, just uploaded for the first time in a few years! Great vid on Half-Life 2 VR mod. Check it out :) www.youtube.com/watch?v=LclI...

Saw a bumper sticker the other day. It read "Heaven is password protected. Jesus is the answer". All I could think was how heaven really should support some sort of MFA app in this day and age.

Same thing could be said for Outer Wilds. Two of my absolute favorites.

On EXPlore, we’re taking a leap back to the early days of 3D gaming with the PlayStation’s playful platforming pioneer Jumping Flash! But how well has time treated this radical robotic rabbit? 📼: youtu.be/kVONrzjEQGk?...

1. Lighthouse 2. Nosferatu 3. Northman 4. Witch Imo.

Great vid from Writing on Games on one of my favorites. It's amazing how Death Stranding's meaning continues to evolve through the years. It is not a game for everyone, but then neither is great art. I have a hard time not recommending the thing to anyone who is open to giving it a chance.

Watching a great video on how the changing technology of streetlamps has affected how city streets are depicted in cinema through the years. Very interesting. By WatchingtheAerial. www.youtube.com/watch?v=y51V...

Perfect soundtrack for the end of 2024

I'm working on an essay about Outer Wilds. Asked a friend if they could give the outline a read. They said they could, but they'd like to first finish the game so they weren't spoiled. They realized it was Outer Worlds they were thinking of before getting too far. These things do actually happen.

An Okami sequel. Wow. What a twist. Love it.

My secret theory is that Geoff wrote all the muppet jokes and the entire bit is actually him making fun of us for always making the same TGA jokes.

Could not figure out what the Squid Game bit was trying to advertise. Before I knew it Snoop Dog was on stage. I love the Game Awards.

Fumito Ueda hype!

That elden ring trailer was such a fever dream. At least we have snoop dog to look forward to.

Oh they're doing a muppets bit now. Oh man!!
