Are we starting to see now? He's a madman. He's an idiot. An old man pissing himself in the corner of a room, muttering paranoid fantasies about his imaginary enemies. Ignore it until it happens. www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025...

I have written to the Defence Secretary about this urgent matter. This demands an immediate investigation and reassurance for the country and indeed in particular my local residents in my South West Norfolk constituency. More widely it highlights the need for furthering ties with our NATO allies.

Hey, artists, in case you were wondering if your work matters: I'm a scientist working on climate change and biodiversity, and I would not be who I am today without The Lorax, The Secret of NIMH, Watership Down, The Last Unicorn, and The X-Files. I know I'm not alone. Thank you for all you do.

Some progress with the small painted barn owl panels. Fourth firing in and tiny details progressing. This stuff takes time! #owls #owl #glass #glassartist #craft #kiln #nature #wildlife #birds #grassland #norfolk

The trees panel is done . Just the cementing left to do. #trees #woodland #nature #stainedglass #glasspainting #creative #norfolk #awalkinthewoods #mist

The second small barn owl panel is complete. Intricate and fiddly work but I so enjoyed the process from plain glass to detailed owl.

My very first glass painting back in 2022.

Lots of pieces ready for the craft fair season. #owl #owls #glass #hares #bees #craft #glassartist #wildlife #madewithlove #lovewhatyoudo #traditionalcrafts

I loved painting this one! It took around 14 separate kiln firings to build up the finished image. I experimented with a watercoloury technique for the first time. I think I'll make another one! #trees #woodland #nature #awalkinthewoods #norfolk #handmade #glass #handmadewithlove #glassartist

Thank you to everyone who attended our NHS consultation in Thetford today - really useful discussions about our local NHS services to feed into the Government’s UK-wide consultation and production of the 10-year plan.

Fox Cub in the Buttercups. Handpainted and unique. Kilnfired in the traditional way in my Norfolk studio on the edge of a fen. #nature #fox #foxcub #FoxOfTheDay #glass #glassartist #handcrafted Inspired by a 📷 by Frances Crickmore.

“If this one gets approved there will be more mega farms to come, so this is a national test case.” No ifs, no buts, the megafarm in Methwold must not go ahead. As farmers have told me: this isn’t farming, it is industrialisation. www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2025/02...

Looking forward to spring!

I have written to Steve Reed MP requesting for an urgent meeting given today's revelations that factory farms in my region have breached over 700 environmental regulations over the past 7 years. We must have a full review to ensure that environmental protections are being upheld.

Wetlands connect mountains, oceans & life. On #WWD2025 we spotlight their role in preserving 40% of species. Yet, threats like dams and channelisation disrupt these ecosystems. Let’s work toward free-flowing rivers and restored wetlands for our common future: biodiversity.europa.eu/europes-biod...

On Friday I was out in #ThreeHoles and #MarshlandStJames meeting a number of farmers including Maurice Crouch Growers Ltd. We discussed a range of issues affecting the farming industry & what needs to be done to support the industry. It was a very useful and informative day.

@greateranglia.bsky.social why, when you charge such exorbitant ticket prices, is your service so poor? We have a visitor from the USA. Yesterday she wanted to travel from Diss to Norwich. No trains; just a bus. Paying for train, getting a bus for more than double what a bus costs. Today, going/…

I’ve reported on homelessness for years and met many, many people who have found themselves in awful situations Every single one of them had more decency and integrity than this privileged plutocrat

Dismayed by this decision to green-light a big new gas power station in Teeside against independent science advice—a victory for the fossil fuel industry. Carbon capture is a fig leaf for lots of new power stations & blue hydrogen plants running on climate-wrecking #LNG.

A valley fen in Norfolk

Somebody set this up, please. I’m too lazy.

Have we been duped by the primary energy fallacy? Critics of renewables often say that we cannot possibly replace the vast amount of fossil fuel we currently use with clean energy. The good news is that we don’t have to. My article in Medium explains why. medium.com/@jan.rosenow...

'We really are running out of time. We need to reduce our emissions immediately.' Anyone listening around the world?

Norfolk County Council (UK East Anglia) is a dinosaur council that systemically works in the opposite direction to environmental progress Good to see this call for NCC to #StopWensumLink (a devastating road project) @stopwensumlink.bsky.social and align with #COP15 "30by30" commitment 👇

June 2024: BBC gives almost no coverage of Restore Nature Now March, with 60,000 people attending demo in London. November 2024: BBC gives front page coverage to farm protest in Wales with "hundreds" of protestors and "dozens of tractors" attending. That fabled BBC balance is missing again.

Such a calm autumn this year - lots of sunsets & mistiness here in the Waveney valley

Both of my profile posts are of me in a pub. I blame @nessa1.bsky.social

The Wild Bird Indicators, using BTO data, have been updated today. It’s not good news. 😔 The ‘all bird species’ index shows an overall shallow decline of 16% since 1970. Find out more ➡️ www.gov.uk/government/s...
