“I’m afraid Martin might well have something called Plot Syndrome” #EELive

Bonus vote! What should Sonia name her baby? #EastEnders

When Dr Who was axed by the BBC in 1969, no one expected Verity Lambert and former Crossroads writers Letts and Dicks to bring it back for ITV. Cliff Richard was grounded on earth with his faithful hovercraft, Bessie and UNIT headquarters were based under Birmingham's Spaghetti Junction. #DoctorWho

I've been giving away my Classic Series Dr Who DVDs as I collect the blu-rays. Then this morning, in what I now suspect might've been a manic episode, I decided to donate all of the remainder (about 70%) in one go. Havens Hospice shop in Southend, if you're interested.

This is going to be me making chit-chat with Brenda Blethyn at the TV Choice Awards this evening.

I think I found a portrait of another fragment of Scaroth at Tate Britain this afternoon. Or perhaps Captain Tancredi came over to Britain a few decades after his time in Florence. 🤔

Thanks AI!

Another question, another angle. Have you ever watched Doctor Who at the cinema - one of those recent-ish releases like Day of the Doctor or last year’s finale? Do you feel episodes are generally better when watched collectively? Or have you had a memorably rotten experience with DW at the cinema?

Doctor Who fans! Question I’m pondering… what *movies* have a DW ‘feel’ or the same kind of spirit? There’s things like ‘At The Earth’s Core’ or ‘Quatermass and the Pit’ where they sort of come from the same source texts. Is there anything where DW feels like the inspiration?

I have a new regular column starting in Doctor Who Magazine this week: The Randomiser. Very simple concept… They challenge me with a random topic each issue and I have to write something – hopefully – new about it. Wish me luck! doctorwhomagazine.com
