Wow. New Quinnipiac poll finds Trump's approval at 38-54. And note this: Trump approval on immigration: 43-54 Approval on his deportations: 40-56 Can we say Trump isn't winning on this issue yet?

As someone who is not remotely sympathetic to Zionism, especially as implemented, I think this is basically unabashedly true.

TONIGHT: L.A. Mayor Karen Bass joins @maddow.msnbc.com to discuss the ongoing protests against immigration raids in Los Angeles, and her thoughts on the Trump administration’s decision to deploy the National Guard. Don't miss "The Rachel @maddow.msnbc.com Show" at 9pm ET.

They called her a mad cat woman and tried to destroy her reputation. Then they dragged her through the courts and tried to destroy her life. But @carolecadwalla.bsky.social is standing tall and continues telling the inconvenient truth. A must see. youtu.be/vG7CvbccdVM?...

“Ethnic cleansing” refers to the forced removal of populations from territory, while genocide involves physical destruction of a group or part of a group, Shadi Hamid writes. "What makes the situation in Gaza so horrifying is that it is both." wapo.st/3Spw7tB

The media’s inability to state facts when it comes to Republicans (and Trump) is partially how we got here. The plane is a corrupt violation of the U.S. constitution (not to mention a security risk). This is a fact. Full stop. It’s not up for debate with weasel words like “raises concerns”

In a fiery address to New Hampshire Democrats on Sunday night, Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker condemned what he described as President Donald Trump’s “authoritarian power grabs” while also blasting the “do-nothing” Democrats in his party — stating it is “time to fight everywhere, all at once.”

Why would OpenAI want to start a social network? “It’s one of the first things I’ve seen from OpenAI that feels like the brainchild of executives who aren’t necessarily building cutting-edge technology,” @cwarzel.bsky.social tells @damonberes.com.

The Pentagon is in "total chaos" and Pete Hegseth is unlikely to remain in his role, according to its former top spokesperson, who painted a scene of dysfunction, backstabbing and missteps at the highest levels of the department. "The building is in disarray." www.politico.com/news/2025/04...

"Roberts’s immunity ruling not only gutted Smith’s case against Trump, it also sent a clear message: If Trump won the election, he could freely engage in even more egregious crimes. As later events would demonstrate, Trump got the message loud and clear." — @davidrlurie.bsky.social

U.S. District Judge Beryl Howell tidily rejected the Trump administration’s push to disqualify her from presiding over a lawsuit.

The Framers took care to leave the running of elections in state hands because they feared a strongman figure would try to seize national power over it. Trump must not be allowed to rule by decree, and most especially not here. It’s dangerous, wrong, and unconstitutional.

Have you noticed anyone in office, at any level, who is not just sounding alarms but taking creative, aggressive action — even extreme action — to stop the catastrophe?

And who are those tax cheats? Research says: Rich people. Compared to "regular" people, those with high levels of wealth and income are more likely to lie, cheat, and steal. And they're also more likely to say that greed is good.

This is only going to get worse. Much, much worse.
