Yup. It fucking hurt like hell the first time I owned up and apologized for a big mistake. So much of my ego was wrapped up in being right, rather than doing the right thing. I still make mistakes (we all do). It's easier for me to own up to them now, and to try to mitigate and learn from them.

Your regular reminder that the more often you own your mistakes, the easier it gets. It is like any muscle-- work it more and it gets stronger. All people mess up, and sometimes we do so publicly. It's not the end of the world to acknowledge that we missed the mark; it's how we clean up.

It started when they nominated the Nazi🤡 in 2016 and has gone downhill from there. He’s decimated campaign infrastructure, the people that run campaigns and do organizing for them have been abandoning ship like crazy. They’re left with 2nd and 3rd tier hands who have only been successful via MAGA.

Marcus Aurelius (121-180 CE) was sickly as he aged in office. He had thoughts of his own approaching death, like everyone does. Marcus says this to square up to it, to ground himself in realistic acceptance. Now thoughts of death cannot debilitate him & he can be mentally strong to face daily life.
