The Greens now have nearly 200 more councillors than Reform. This is not something you'd be likely to guess from all the copiously salivating media coverage of Farage & his crew of billionaire-backed far-right chancers.

Some good chat tonight about how we can use art to document our struggles and working class histories but also as a tool of political engagement and literacies. Thanks for having me Glasgow TUC and to Suki Sangh and Jamie Max Art - Keira Mclean #glasgow #stainedglass #scotland #glasgow850

In an executive order, Trump targeted the Smithsonian and the National Museum of African American History & Culture suggesting that it is “divisive” and pedaling “improper ideology.” So, I took a trip back to the museum, and what I saw was a place trying to tell the unvarnished truth about America.

We find fingerprints, cord, basketry and other impressions left in damp pottery while pieces were made in the Neolithic but some new examples have left us puzzled and intrigued. #archaeology #Orkney #Neolithic #Ceramics #NessOfBrodgar

In this week’s story, writer Nicholas Triolo walks the 140-kilometer length of the Rio Côa in central Portugal and begins to feel a wild, relational divinity in the fields of broom and the snarls of boars around him. Amazing news with new @unesco.org geopark for #Scotland just announced a fantastic achievement by Arran Geopark and all the partners on the Isle of Arran who made this happen.

This–– @robcowen.bsky.social’s The North Road––is out today. It's magnificent: one of the best books you'll read this year. A polyphonic walking-up of the ghosts & lives of the Great North Road; a bravura act of imagining in which RC seems to slip supernaturally between times & minds. So, so good.

Our Glendalough Community Excavations are back (June 23rd - July 4th). Email [email protected] for more information and details of how to apply for a place. Tx to @wicklowcoco.bsky.social, Heritage Council and @ucdarchaeology.bsky.social for support
