If it broke through to CNN, it’s effective messaging. (It also has the added value of being true.)

Really not far to go now. Link —> petition.parliament.uk/petitions/70...

More random trade policy announcements from the US President which may or may not mean anything beyond what is already known, that he doesn't understand trade, or international relations, doesn't respect deals, doesn't care except about himself. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Also applies in the UK.

GB News, "Surely Brexit is a good thing?" Andy Dixon, Fisherman, "It's been bad. It hasn't worked out as the government promised.. Locally, in North Shields, it's been a bit of a disaster" GB News, "In what way?" Andy Dixon, "Red tape, documentation, it's 100x what it used to be"

This.

Elsewhere in the interview being reported, he describes Brexit as the biggest disaster of his lifetime. An interesting choice of headline in the cirumstances... www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Dolcie-Mae from #Newport has been diagnosed with HLH - a life-threatening blood disorder. A stem cell transplant is her only hope for survival but she currently has no matching donor. 💔 🔄 SHARE and register as a stem cell donor at dkms.org.uk/dolciemae_tw to help find her hero🙏

Sounds like a plan

Brilliant satirical cover from Private Eye, mocking spineless media organisations and journalists who submit and cower in the face of power 👏

"When Mexico sends its people, they're sending their best. They're sending firefighters to help solve American problems. They're bringing fire fighting uniforms. They're bringing fire fighting equipment. They're bringing kittens down from trees. And all, I assume, are good people."

We should call this what it is: a lie. Rejoining the single market would be good for growth. Labour knows that and only won't do it because it believes it will be bad for Labour.

We’re all immune to it at this point but we have to remind ourselves that this is an abomination. A catastrophe. A grotesque corruption. And a betrayal of the millions who fought and sacrificed in the great wars of the 20th Century to escape a world that works like this.

The problem of private funding of UK politics runs deeper than one prospective donation. The only way to prevent its corrosion of democracy is a public funding model. In lieu of that, we need stricter controls on who can donate and how much can be donated. www.heraldscotland.com/politics/vie...

This is unutterably stupid. Political donations should have been reformed YEARS ago. We don't want a knee-jerk "stop-Farage" law; we just want a democracy that isn't a corruptible plaything of the rich, whether it's Lord Sainsbury, Frank Hester or Elon Musk. www.theguardian.com/politics/202...

To say I'm fuming is an understatement ⏬️ Are you?

"Research from the Centre for Economic Performance, a think tank based at the London School of Economics, said Brexit led to a 6.4 per cent drop in the UK’s global exports and a 3.1 per cent decline in imports into the UK from the rest of the world."

Taking Britain out of the Erasmus+ programme was a huge mistake. Labour must rejoin and accept the EU’s offer of a youth mobility scheme

Majority want closer links between UK and EU. Politicians should not lag behind.

If this country made the slightest bit of sense we'd be beating Europe's doors down to secure a youth mobility scheme. inews.co.uk/opinion/brex...

“Taking Britain out of the Erasmus+ programme was a huge mistake. Labour must rejoin and accept the EU’s offer of a youth mobility scheme” 👏👏👏

“Pesticides that harm bees were found in the majority of English waterways tested in the last year” - Pesticides that are banned in the EU but allowed in the UK due to our Brexit ‘freedoms’ 🤔 www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

HOUSING THE HOMELESS SAVES MONEY IN FINLAND: “a recent study showed the savings in emergency healthcare, social services & the justice system totalled as much as €15,000 a year for every homeless person in properly supported housing.” It works AND it saves money. www.theguardian.com/cities/2019/...

If you're interviewing a Trump apologist in the UK media/politics sphere, don't ask about trade, tariffs or even NATO *until* you've asked about the coup attemt, the sex offending & the felonies. These people claim to care about all the things that Trump denigrates daily. Call them out on it.

I’m now at the stage of puppy ownership when I wonder why I spent all that money making my life much harder.

“The Observer view on trade relations: closer ties with EU is the lever for economic growth”

Trump’s new government department for efficiency starts with two men doing one job. Lol.

Two good things about having a mad puppy; the enthusiastic greeting in the morning, and how friendly and sociable dog walkers are (if you’ve got a dog). Hoping for some more upsides soon…

"Lib Dems plan to force vote on replacing Lords with elected upper chamber" On Wed Labour has a vote on finally getting rid of the 92 places reserved for hereditary peers AT LAST. But LibDems want an amendment to abolish the ridiculous House of Lords and replace with an elected chamber PERFECT 👍🏼

Those speakers at MSG absolutely represent the values of the GOP. And these GOP folks who are now protesting too much have known it. It is just less deniable now.
