Wow, a blast from the past— dredging up a memory from when the net was young, and Adam Curry left MTV to focus on his website… and one of the first-ever spoof sites popped up: madamfurry <dot> com.
(Don’t go there now; it’s an insecure site, whatever’s lurking there.)

Long ago, on Usenet, there was a post of tagline he’s for various titles in the franchise… something like:
Highlander: There can be only one
Highlander II: There should have been only one

My HSR quoting is similarly limited, mostly stemming from a casual mention to my then-gf that I used to subscribe to and read Popular Science. (She roasted me accordingly but married me anyway.)

Why does this remind me of Maggie Smith’s character on Downton Abbey somehow always winning first prize at the annual flower show?

Interesting that “equitable” is on the list. An Equitable Adjustment Proposal (EAP) is standard language for a modification to the scope of a government contract, typically (for example) adjusting what the contractor is paid in exchange for a government-requested change to the scope of the work.

The key is underneath in a Renoir, just forming a frame on which to hang the color. Like a frame meant to hang lights in the shape of a Christmas tree, you don’t really see the frame itself once the colors are hung.

So here’s one such list. I always find lists like this hard to sift through— would be nice if they separated men’s and women’s clothing, for example. But I’ve already found some gems— e.g., I’m going to look for A Dozen Cousins beans and rice next time I’m at the grocery store.
