I like hot dogs, cooking, 3d printing, and making weird Ai videos and pictures. I am not here to debate the ethics of Ai, but I do enjoy talking about Ai and how it is going to fundamentally improve everyone's lives if it doesn't murder us all first.

Sometime to cheer myself up I'll load up a 10 part Netflix Hitler documentary, and watch the last 20 minutes of part 10.

I think the main comfort i find in watching old Nazi documentaries on Netflix is the assured knowledge that they lose in the end. I wish I had that confidence in this current timeline.

Open Ai did a quiet rollout of an update with #AEI (artificial emotional intelligence) which seems to equate to "dumbing down" openAi responses to make it more appealing to new users. It's a more colloquial style of texting with the Ai (like you might with a friend). I personally hated it.

If bluesky doesn't fix the 60-second limit on video uploads soon, I'm going to get really fed up with this place.

Took a few days off social media & started going through old comics and cards to rebag and board my collection because the bags are at least 30 years old and are starting to go yellow. I found these old hockey cards in another box and I started laughing at this one in particular.

There you go. The U.S. Copyright Office released a 41-page report on using Ai in creative filmmaking productions: variety.com/2025/biz/new...

I picked up a second #3Dprinter before the tariffs kick in on Chinese imports. I'm now the proud owner of a #bambulabs #p1s with an AMS system in addition to the Prusa mk4s I already have.

Elon is so close to understanding how we all see him now:

Ok lets see how #Deepseek handles a paradox now:

China's free Ai Deepseek: chat.deepseek.com In a few minutes of use it's kind of fascinating so far, when you use #DeepSeek you can see the process the Ai uses to analyze its answer to you. On complex questions this can get VERY interesting to read.

I posted a very long diatribe 10 days ago on FB warning about #ElonMusk supporting far-right candidates in the UK and Germany. Including giving a very large megaphone on X to Neo-Nazi wine mom #AliceWeidl of the #aFd. And then this shit happened at the inauguration.

Even I was surprised Biden commuted the sentence of #LeonardPeltier in his last hour in office. Peltier has been in prison Biden's entire career. I mean, Biden also preemptively pardoned his entire extended family. 😂

Early American Vending Machines gone wrong.

I've been getting tired of the alarmist memes claiming ONE AI IMAGE USES ONE BOTTLE OF WATER! I did some research on this, and it may surprise you:

Wow!

This trial should be interesting. While I am sure ChatGPT could be retrained without this data, it's going to really come down to the court interpreting "fair use" more than anything else, and my gut senses they're going to side with tech. We shall see. www.npr.org/2025/01/14/n...

I finished up this #3dprint Picard's Ressikan Flute from #STNG -- it's one of my favorite episodes too. The damn thing actually works, but is more whistle sounding. I think I'll print a second one in more of a wood grain. After I get the new #Bambu it'd be fun to try a multicolor print like this:
