I got home from our trip and boy did I CLEAN the humidifiers. Our humidifiers are CLEAN and ready to help us endure the THREAT of FASCISM.

There are some self-proclaimed Christians pushing voucher scams. Vouchers take money from public schools and give it to wealthy parents who already send their kids to private school. I can’t think of anything more un-Christian than stealing from the poor to give to the rich.

An example of the New York Times doing exactly what I’m talking about bsky.app/profile/genx...

By accepting Trump’s anti-Black premise and regurgitating the narrative that equates anything Black as DEI, the NY Times has become part of the propaganda machine

We're dropping our DEI policy as we seek to employ the most highly qualified candidates, which is why, going forward, we are only hiring applicants who went to ivy league schools because their rich dads donated money

Also, just a little side note, and I know this was metaphorical, but it’s always a good time to mention that we need to end literal Brahmin supremacy, too. That vile, toxic practice is part of what enabled the fascist takeover in India, driven by right-wing religious extremism there.

I was set to launch my book at the Carter Library next month. This week, we were told all events now need approval from the National Archives. The next day, my event was forced to relocate. A book about the working homeless. A book about civil rights. Apparently these topics are now off limits.

KNOX NEWS LTE: “Trump has exceeded all expectations in corruption & incoherence. Where are our elected leaders? — @RepTimBurchett yells on tv about how his father fought in WW2, why is he so enthusiastic about giving unilateral concessions to a dictator?” www.knoxnews.com/story/opinio...

Hope the Pope recovers and sending thoughts and prayers to my Catholic brothers and sisters in this moment of uncertainty.

good time for academics to join AAUP

All the people wishing for a military junta or coup to end this should realize that the people Trump’s installing are far more likely to do such a thing than people he’s firing

You constantly post about exotic high speed trains but don’t post about the boring local ones you are a glorified train otaku post about Amtrak being threatened about things like Gateway or hell potential threats to the 160/220mpj upgrades to Acela

DOGE Put Him in the Treasury Department. His Company Has Federal Contracts Worth Millions | WIRED Experts say the conflicts posed by Tom Krause’s dual roles are unprecedented in the modern era.

The thing about swastikas spray painted on the side of a cybertruck is there’s a 50/50 chance the owner did it.

Hockey remains Canada’s:

I think people should also be aware that this would be economically devastating on a local level. The economy of "College Towns" often revolves around the college. Closures and/or layoffs will devastate those communities.

The reason behind canceling our “Wild to Mild” influenza vaccine campaign is revealed. “Informed consent”. Vaccines ALREADY require informed consent. And we do not consent to the spread of vaccine disinformation that could costs the lives of millions of people. #RFKJrlies #vaccinessavelives

I’m here in Rockville, MD for another #TeslaTakedown protest outside a local Tesla dealership!

more massive, entire economic sector-halting oopsies, now at the FDA

I’m sure this is fine

It sure feels like that the shooter in Butler was a fan of Trump got buried quickly along with any lingering press curiosity about him at all. Like does anybody even remember his name without looking?

When congresspeople should post - To tell the public what YOU ARE DOING - To tell the public what THEY CAN DO When congresspeople should not post - All other times

WaPo Page One: “If you’re going to just yell at me, that’s not going to be an effective town hall,” McCormick said .. “But we’re pissed!” a woman shouted. #GA07 www.washingtonpost.com/politics/202...

well would you look at that

This is AN excellent framing.

…who earnestly believes he’s Leto II.

this is from a new report on a “third way” on DEI and it is unbelievably naive, which in my view is emblematic of the author, rich kahlenberg, whose willingness to extend good faith to obvious bad faith actors borders on gullibility www.progressivepolicy.org/a-way-out-of...

“That is why Trumpists are so focused on “ending DEI” in the federal workforce. They see anti-discrimination and inclusion as a ladder of upward mobility for people they do not believe should have one.”

Happy 75th Birthday, Dr. J! #Legend 🏀 🎉🎈🎊

Because black people are often assumed unqualifed by default, black people that make it to the top of *anything* are usually the best *humanity* has to offer due to the extra scrutiny. That makes it hard to claim to care about merit *and* be a white supremacist at the same time.

American not realizing other countries have agency challenge - Dark Souls 2 difficulty (unpatched )

White people who *actually* care about merit (and equity) understand their racist counterparts *very* well (they get plenty of experience from friends and family) so when they tap black people for a high profile role they do so with the expected reaction of the racists in mind from the beginning.
