Word must have gotten out to the truck bros that I was walking today. They parked on the sidewalk instead of in the bike lane

HOT RESEARCH NEWS! Motonormativity ("car brain") is a bias that stops people making rational judgements about driving en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Motonor... Our new study shows where this bias comes from AND how it makes people think they're odd for supporting changes to the transport system 🧵

For completeness, I’ll post here as well. @ternbicycles.com is being mean to me by having the bike I’m considering out of stock while the more expensive model is on sale.

Carrier is back! Issue 02 is out this April. 🌍 Carrier is our internationally-focused magazine featuring human-centred stories of people who ride cargo bikes. 👐 Stay tuned for information on how to get your copy. In the meantime, you can read Issue 01 online here: cargobikefestival.com/carrier/

Hey Winter cycling friends. Join me Friday for Winter Bike to Work Day! #yegbike

Once again, a shoutout to the referee who rejected our paper because no one uses public transit to access medical care.

Can anyone on the road planning office or neighbourhood design from Edmonton please watch this week's Not Just Bikes, please? Sure he's talking about paver streets but his comments about continuous sidewalks and narrowing of crossings are so important. Continuous sidewalk is just so nice.

Rest in peace, Professor Shoup (1938-2025) We will keep up the good work. Share your stories and thoughts with the parking reform community here: parkingreform.org/donald-shoup

I'm deeply saddened to share that Donald Shoup passed away last night. He was the ideal academic—curious, methodical, and concerned with turning ideas into real-world change. TAing his parking course these past few years has one of the greatest honors of my life. Rest in peace, Shoup Dogg.

Dear #yegcc. Please only consider plans to speed up the LRT portion of an LRT project, not the SUV portion. Also, please read about Braess' Paradox. www.cbc.ca/news/canada/... @andrewknack.bsky.social @michaeljanz.bsky.social @ashleysalvador.bsky.social @edmontonanne.bsky.social

I've been doing live streams from the cargo bike for almost a year and while it has been fun, I don't know that my personality is cut out for keeping it up. Being on camera brings more anxiety that enjoyment. 1/ www.youtube.com/@AmericanFie...

I'm considering a @ternbicycles.com GSD but the only dealer in town never stocks any of the brand's bikes. Special order and give the LBS a cut on something they have no interest selling? Pay a ton extra to ship across the country? What are your thoughts?

Well, I fell down a rabbit hole tonight trying to replicate a #QGIS function in #rspatial. Thanks for Antonio Paez's book for guidance on the nndist() function. The only thing I didn't see was how to calculate a z-score or p-value. Still, Rn<1 means clustered.

@skipischris.bsky.social This is the Corey Perry that I was hoping would show up more often. So annoying when this was happening for the bad team

How would it look if we started afresh with allocating street space? "Car users, on average, had 3.5 times more space available than non-car users. While some allocation mechanisms are more plausible than others, none is without disputed normative implications" www.tandfonline.com/doi/abs/10.1...
