Beautiful tour-de-force of #lipidtime biochemistry in science last week. Do we know how BMP is made now? www.science.org/doi/10.1126/...

First time playing around with single molecule STORM imaging of PI3P on endosomes using recombinant biosensors. This was great fun with our new fellow Ruby Peters and I see lots of potential for this in the future!

Heads up #lipidtime enthusiasts. @maiblab.bsky.social iblab.bsky.social has an exciting postdoc position on the function of the elusive PIKfyve complex. The UK has shown no propensity for arbitrarily freezing its research funding, so US trainees - consider the move! www.jobs.ac.uk/job/DLW981/r...

My annual Valentine’s post of this image that happens to land on #FluorescenceFriday this year! An axon approaching a kidney glomerulus doing its best to look like a rose.

The most frequently asked question we get: do #lipidtime genetically encoded lipid biosensors compete out cells’ native effector proteins? Victoria Holmes and Morgan Ricci led a paper in JCB that answers this question: rupress.org/jcb/article/... Read on for a brief thread.

@jeremymberg.bsky.social is doing such an amazing job keeping us all informed on what's happening with NIH. Thank you Jeremy!

As if I needed more reason to rage against AI summaries in google searches. 🤬 @coronin.bsky.social

Please welcome Contact: The Journal of Inter-Organelle Communication @contactctc.bsky.social to Bluesky!

Just read this awesome #lipidtime review on the enigmatic PIP4K lipid kinases. Just a beautifully structured piece of work that is a dream to reference. I even recommend it just for general info on small molecule inhibitors and their caveats! doi.org/10.1111/febs...

Sorkin lab continues to illuminate the cellular itinerary of EGF signaling by endogenous tagging of effectors. Super cool paper!

Excited to co-chair #ASBMB2025 with the incredible Dave Pagliarini! This year’s ASBMB meeting promises to showcase cutting-edge science, foster dynamic collaborations, & inspire new ideas. Don’t miss your chance to be part of it—register & submit your late breaking abstracts. t.co/UwgMdxBo15

What’s not to love about this?

Made one of these for lipids, will update continuously. Please share and let me know who I've missed go.bsky.app/A27yZA6

Very cool #lipidtime preprint from Taki Nishimura and colleagues: engineering of new lipid-binding probes from PH domains and nanobodies from a high-throughput assay where liposomes bind to cell surfaces displaying members of the protein probe library. www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1...

Taking the "on" out of the PIK3CA oncogene: a paradigm shift in PI3K signaling just out from @ralitsamadsen.bsky.social Ralista will be talking about this in the New frontiers in inositol lipid signaling at the #ASBMB annual meeting this April - don’t miss it! www.asbmb.org/annual-meeti...

To everyone that celebrates it…

#proudmentor! Great @FASEBorg #phospholipids meeting in MN with Morgan Ricci picking up best poster and Claire Weckerly getting a best short talk! This is why I don’t meddle in my trainees’ presentations…

Happy fourth to all you scientists who celebrate it!

Amazing to see PI5P hugging an effector. This makes me so yappy 😍congrats to @BrookeEmerling and team! www.science.org/doi/10.1126/...

My lab having a fight about this: #lipidtime enthusiasts, did they pick the right PIP2?

For all you #lipidtime enthusiasts looking for a higher sensitivity phosphatidic acid biosensor, Claire Weckerly’s new preprint will be Nirvana! www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1...
