Please verify the stuff you post on this website. There are tons of fakes out there whose only goal is to induce outrage, and collect clout.

This is our city. We’re going to continue following & enforcing the laws to keep all Bostonians safe. And it goes without saying that our police commissioner has my complete confidence & support.

A few people have kindly lobbed this into the tl, but here's my own gift link: Me, in NYT Opinion, arguing we're not failing to handle H5N1 flu in cattle because the response is based on plans for bird flu in poultry and doesn't match dairy farming structures. www.nytimes.com/2025/02/20/o...

This is in one of the most conservative districts in Wisconsin ⤵️

Where are the Democrats but also Where are the churches Where are the celebrities Where are the NGOs Where are the Universities Where are professional groups like AMA Where are the athletes Where are the unions What people/groups do and don’t do for next month determines our collective future

1. Monday - fell apart 2. Tuesday - broke my heart 3. Wednesday - same 4. Thursday - didn't even start 5. Friday - I'm in love

I think this is right. it's not entirely Sanders' fault. he's said some bad things and done some good things. but he's just obviously not going to be around much longer to lead, and that means ppl are naturally turning to people who are going to be the future of the party.

I was at a punk show in 83 where a skinhead jumped up on stage and gave a Nazi salute. The bass player hit him with his bass, knocking him into the crowd and 150 people collectively hauled his ass out of the venue and threw him in the mud. This was the right and only appropriate response.

Listen to @radiofreetom.bsky.social! "Now that Trump has captured the intelligence services, the Justice Department, and the FBI, the military is the last piece he needs to establish the foundations for authoritarian control of the U.S. government."

People i know who had a Tesla have sold them. Nobody wants a Tesla now

It's weird how everyone in the world knows a Nazi salute when we see it, with the notable exception of journalists and their editors.

This is a brilliant article which I am glad someone has finally written. It's clear that the value is in the *data* and the potential to coerce is part of that value. Normally you can rely on governments to honour their side of the bargain. But when a third party gets in, all bets are off.

another great example along with Wired and Teen Vogue of how real journalism these days can be a lot braver at outlets where no one is trying to get in good with the White House press secretary they’re out here with us, reporting on what’s happening to us all, instead of trying to get inside access

Gov. Mills showed precisely the sort of integrity in the face of political pressure that the majority of the party currently lacks. More importantly, she did so extemporaneously and without hesitation from a purple state where this isn't a universally popular position. www.maine.gov/governor/mil...

Side note. There are eight members of the joint chiefs. the chair is black. the CNO (navy) is a woman. the other six are white guys. chair and the cno got fired tonight.

Countries should be straight up banning Starlink -- massive national security risk

Interesting to see these big name universities absolutely crumble and cave — halting admissions, altering faculty labs’ websites, and basically being a bunch of collaborators. Almost like that’s what they were really about all along. Almost like those billions in endowments aren’t for education.

Focus on the positive: this has overall been a very bad week for Trump! * he is falling in the polls - both his favorability and his policies * he lost his first Supreme Court case on firing an watchdog, setting the way for others fired to fight back 1/

I didn’t even realize there was another Nazi salute at CPAC aside from Bannon. Fuck all of these people.

Re-sharing – now without the editorializing! “On Friday, Penn notified department chairs that it will cut admissions across graduate programs, a decision faculty members say was made after programs had already accepted students.”

COMMENTARY: When government shuts out journalists and the public we serve, it's not a sign of strength. www.youtube.com/watch?v=oldZ...

Please read and share. But especially share with folks that might not realize how critical Section 504 is to so many people. I tried to write a simple clear explanation at the break. I hope it reaches some people who aren't already on our side. Gift link: www.startribune.com/why-are-repu...

in a world with little to laugh about, this made me laugh uproariously #politics #AgentOrange #Krasnov #Canada #PMTrudeau #TrumpIsAConvictedFelon #TrumpIsACriminal #TrumpIsAPsychopath

The Execution of the Doge, by Delacroix, 1825. He was beheaded for attempting a coup d'etat. Apropos of, you know, absolutely nothing at all.

All dystopias make themselves invisible by becoming the “new normal”: a tolerable form of pain no one ever dares describe as a “dystopia”, given they have nothing to compare it to

Most people probably aren’t tracking this but Senate Republicans just started an all-night voting marathon that will allow them to gut Medicaid and increase child hunger while giving handouts to billionaires like Elon Musk.

hi, are you doomscrolling? You should order your free Covid-19 tests while the federal program still exists: special.usps.com/testkits

Here's @bluestein.bsky.social's uncensored thread of the town hall held by Rep. Rich McCormick (R-GA), in which an unhappy audience pushes back against DOGE cuts: threadreaderapp.com/thread/18927...

For every $1 the IRS spends auditing the top 1%, it can collect $13. For every $1 the IRS spends auditing the top 0.1%, it can collect $26. Laying off 7,000 IRS employees (during tax season) isn't about efficiency. It's about making it easier for the rich to evade taxes.

I’m hearing that Johnson & Johnson has banned the term DEI from any employee communications. More advance compliance from non-governmental entities.

My patient told me today that there’s a silver lining to being old and having metastatic cancer: she’s not going to live long enough to see the aftermath of this administration. Excuse me while I go cry now.

Hey, fellow #TeslaTakedown participants(And anyone that wants to!): I noticed that, unlike with a march, most of the people passing the protest I was at were drivers. They often didn't have time to read and absorb our signs. 1/4

Impacts of the USAID Stop Work Orders A 2024 study looked into the impact of U.S. foreign aid. Every dollar spent on aid returns an average of $8 in exports. It benefits people in the US before delivery and in the development phase when countries strike up partnerships.

“I’m most concerned about my students, my master’s students, my Ph.D. students, my [undergraduates]; these are students I choose to mentor and really care a lot about. I really care a lot about the future and their success,” Hengel said. www.tuftsdaily.com/article/2025...

I'm super impressed with this interview. Really great reporting on a really crazy subject.
