The way the Saturn was designed makes a lot more sense when you take into account how expensive 3D tech was in the early 90s, and also how ridiculously fast it evolved. Sega spent tons of money designing cutting edge 3D arcade boards. If they went all-out for the Saturn, it'd be like 3x the price.

One Saturn-controller inspired chunky boi and a pretty nifty fight pad for PS2 (and PS1) released in 2004 to celebrate Street Fighter II's 15th anniversary. Quite nice to use for other games too, which don't require an analogue stick.
