So many things that people take for granted were secured with blood, sweat and tears. And all of those things are always reversible. We owe it to future generations that they can remember that what they have was also secured with blood, sweat and tears.

ICE has begun raiding the homes of American citizens. A widely shared story out of Oklahoma describes a disturbing incident where a woman and her children were dragged into their yard half-naked. Reports are mounting across multiple states of agents targeting the wrong properties.

“And I’m like, what do you mean, you ‘do your own research’? You running a double-blind study in your living room, dawg?” - A guy walking ahead of me with his friends on a NYC sidewalk in 2021, also my favorite overheard dialogue of the entire pandemic

Watch the stars in their courses and imagine yourself running alongside them. Think constantly on the changes of the elements into each other, for such thoughts wash away the dust of earthly life. —MARCUS AURELIUS, MEDITATIONS, 7.47

“only the state can decide what a woman is” is prima facie such a nasty political development, nearly dystopian in its implications. it shocks me that so many get duped into thinking it protects anyone but men

Before the election, I warned that there is no safe haven under authoritarianism. If they can ship Kilmar Abrego Garcia to a foreign prison—accused of no crime, with no trial—they can do it to anyone. Americans of conscience must stand against this now.

JUST IN: Deputy Assistant to the President and "Counterterrorism Czar" Sebastian Gorka says anyone advocating for due process for Kilmar Abrego Garcia could be viewed as "aiding and abetting a terrorist" and be federally charged. (h/t Philip Germain)

BREAKING: AOC bringing the house down in Utah. “It will never be just institutions and officials alone who uphold our democracy. It will always be the people, the masses who refused to comply with authoritarian regimes who are the last and strongest defense of our country and our freedom.”

Chasten and I are relieved that Governor Shapiro and his family are safe. While we wait to learn more, this much is clear: the targeting of a public official and his family - especially a prominent Jewish official on a major Jewish holiday - is unconscionable and has no place in our country.

Not in any way the most important thing about the (horrific) attempt to restrict voting rights in the US, but I do wonder whether making it harder specifically for married women who have taken their husband's name might mean women pause before doing that? Keep your name, keep your voting rights...

Let’s play ball!

Strong moment from AOC’s speech in Utah

Calm down, folks, it was just an attempted assassination of a Jewish Democratic governor and his family on the first night of Passover, it’s not like somebody spray painted a dick on a Cybertruck.

In Iran if a 12-year-old girl is raped and impregnated by her father, she must carry the baby to term, or be thrown in prison for life. Wait, sorry, no. That's Mississippi.

Same, medieval dudes. Same.

#BREAKING: Over 36,000 people rallied in Los Angeles today in support of @sanders.senate.gov and @aoc.bsky.social’s OLIGARCHY TOUR — setting a record as their largest stop on this tour.

The crowd and overflow crowd for the Bernie Sanders/AOC event tonight in Utah. Wow.
