Here’s my weekend summary of the news that mattered over the last week, plus our weekly journals of record and week-ahead diary. Especially for paying subscribers to The Kākā. A soliloquy for the week to March 2 thekaka.substack.com/p/a-soliloqu...

In which the CEO of Engineering NZ calls bullshit on the Government’s claims it is ‘going for growth’ with infrastructure investment. It’s not, and that’s clear in the numbers, with hundreds of engineers now migrating to Australia. thekaka.substack.com/p/the-funds-...

Check these out — Still probably my favourite bollards/barriers I’ve seen anywhere in the world. They aren’t just cute and fun (and extra seating) — they’re REALLY heavy. Cars should NOT try messing with these sheep! I took this pic while working for Christchurch NZ years ago. #CityOfSmiles

"By 2030, Paris will have removed 60,000 parking spaces and replaced them with trees."

David Seymour asked a conniving question that didn’t need asking. The answer was loud and clear. Put your racist, divisive Treaty Principles Bill in the bin! #ToitūTeTiriti
