Adding this to the ever-growing @minakimes.bsky.social hall of fame

I've been looking for a way to easily cross post between BlueSky and Mastodon, and I think I found it. It's an app called Crossiant.

To anyone playing Friedemann Friese's new trick-taker Fishing: I highly recommend renaming the trump cards to Trout Cards. Trust me, you won't regret it.

Today's game was Beast, a heavy strategy/deduction game from Pegasus. It wasn't to my taste, but I thought the design was very clever. Your first game will be sacrificial, especially playing the Beast, but I can see how experienced players would have a lot to chew on here.

Yup. I continue to say that AI is for those who fetishize THE IDEA and dismiss THE WORK. It's for those people who come up to writers and say, "I got a great idea for a book, I'll give it to you, you write it, and we'll split the profits 50/50," as if the idea is the hardest and most important part.

Doin' game design

Alt text: a donkey featured on the cover of the board game Roads and Boats. It is drawn in what seems like either colored pencil or crayon. It’s not the slickest board game cover donkey, for sure

I got Mojo an exercise wheel. Here he is trying to figure out how to use it. (I took this video a couple of days ago. He now gets on it himself and runs a few cycles.)

The new Mclusky album is worth it for the song titles alone www.youtube.com/watch?v=i8fb...

I have spent half the weekend in an intense episode of hyperfocus, and the other half doing nothing in a burned-out haze, ama

sometimes you pitch an article, black out, and then wake up 2000 words later with no real recollection how any of it happened www.pcgamer.com/games/strate...

I'm going to drop my most controversial opinion here. It comes in 2 parts. 1) Being "easy to offend" is not necessarily a bad thing; in fact, it's often good. Being "hard to offend" is not necessarily a good thing; in fact, it's often bad.

This article really sums up how bizarre the current moment is. Speaking out against the death and injury of a legion of children should not be controversial.

Last night, I dreamt of a scene from an unmade spoof of a sci fi film. It’s a dramatic fistfight between hero and villain. The villain wears a mask of a bony, cartoonish face. An ally of the hero sneaks up to the villain, and tears off his mask!

This is literally a common play in cricket. Always wanted to see an equivalent play in baseball, and now I have.
