They’re burning down one of our finest achievements.

George Zimmerman and Kyle Rittenhouse are walking free! They're doing fucking speaking tours!

It’s forgotten now but conservatives were showing up to events wearing hoodies and carrying skittles to mock a dead child after his murder made the news.

Man he really called it

Musk has gone insane. He is a madman. This is becoming truly dangerous for the country.

Drone support for the 54th Brigade (background altered for security)🪖 One Mavic 3T Thermal drone🚁 and a Mavic 3 Pro🚁 were delivered by us to these drone operators🔥 They will see the enemy coming, so that FPVs can make their job💪 For more drones ➡️ donorbox.org/ukraine-air-ops

If you’re a federal worker looking for a good accomplishment to share with Elon, tell him you responded to texts from the mother of your children.

It is insanely obvious that Elon Musk is illegally exercising the powers of a principal officer of the United States in violation of the appointments clause

this is an act of unspeakable violence. it benefits no one, it doesn’t move a number on a balance sheet. it only guarantees that every one of these incarcerated transgender people will be tortured.

Yeah I keep thinking that the story of a powerful person who carelessly wrecks large numbers of ordinary people’s lives usually ends poorly

I have some thoughts on what Department of Defense veterans and generals facing firing for nothing they did could do with their knowledge and expertise, now that they're freed up. And some say it might be the most fun use of those skills ever devised. And it involves the guys who fired them.

One of the most clarifying moments for me regarding how utterly, hopelessly divorced this country was from its own true nature and history came in 2008 when I listened in disbelief to educated adults argue aloud that the election of one (1) Black president meant we were in a post-racial America.

Frankly masculinity already has a bit of a mixed public image. This might be fatal.

This is the government, putting our fellow Americans, in mortal danger.

Running thread of people trying to normalize the sieg heil. It's not an "Elon gesture", it's not autism, it's not your heart going out, it's not parody or trolling. It's fucking despicable. Don't ever let this shit become normal. Fuck any excuse given, there is none. Zero tolerance. 1. Elon Musk

Over the past month I have been getting asked a lot of questions about how we should approach this political moment. This is the response I came up with. @rupturepress.bsky.social @itsgoingdown.org.web.brid.gy www.rupturepress.org/blog/a-call-...

It may not be cool or hip in some circles, but we legitimately do need a massive amount of people to run for office. Flood the school boards, councils, county seats, state legislatures, Congress, etc. Big changes at the top happen when the ground shifts at the bottom. And that can start now.

This is the most wretched campaign of deliberate, explicit persecution the United States has perpetrated against a minority group in decades. Many of the most important people in politics and journalism are busying themselves trying to figure out how little to say or do about it.

If you share video footage (e.g., Ring cameras) with cops you’re a snitch.

Repealing Section 230 with an autocrat in power will not hold tech accountable, it will suppress speech and force platforms to silence users who say things the regime doesn’t like.

UPDATE: Meta is continuing to censor anti-Musk ads. It has removed a Facebook ad calling for a boycott of Tesla, saying that it violates the company's policy on "unacceptable business practices" muskwatch.com/subscribe

Yesterday it was university of Pittsburgh - today it’s Penn. I fear this will soon be a grimly long thread of more gratuitous Trump/Musk inflicted disabling of America for the long term www.thedp.com/article/2025...

Oh my god, Eric Adams is going to accidentally free Luigi. Amazing.

Musk took over the US government with graft and is using it—in combination with his space launch firm—to exploit an allied country that’s suffering under Russian invasion for its mineral rights. The scheme is so imperiously evil I feel like audiences wouldn’t find it believable in a Bond villain.

folks with the expectation that university presidents will act nobly: may I introduce you to the Board of Trustees

In the depths of the Nebraskan winter, 2400 people came out to listen to Bernie Sanders in Omaha last night. 800 had to be turned away at the door. Over 190,000 tuned into the livestream. There is a movement to be harnessed here. @sanders.senate.gov (📸 Anna Bahr)

Blood for the Blood God. Meeps for the Meep Throne.

"rescind acceptances" the kind of thing that absolutely destroys trust and reputation for a supposedly world class institution

its amazing the way conservative arguments fall completely apart in court when there are actually penalties for lying

Three things that make the U.S. the envy of the world: 1) Professionalized military with strong norm of civilian control 2) Higher education and cutting-edge scientific research 3) Ability to welcome immigrants and attract the “best and the brightest” All three are under threat.

Cuts to NSF expected to be at 50% reduction in force for an independent agency that fuels discovery and innovation. "The NSF budget was $9B, or 0.13% of the total [budget]." This is not about fiscal prudence. This is about killing universities. nanoscale.blogspot.com/2025/02/the-...

I don't know what to tell higher education. You can't both be "committed to democracy and intellectual freedom" and bending to the whims of authoritarians to "preemptively avoid fall out." At that point, you're just selling a mission you have no intention or capability of delivering on.

The most egregious DEI hire in the history of the U.S.

If you support this, you’re an awful human being

same software, different hardware

Hello, Royal Society, good morning. I hope you slept well and are looking forward to your afternoon nap. @royalsociety.org @deevybee.bsky.social

I sat in a meeting at Georgia Tech where this was essentially the administration line. Still is.

“If you're not careful, the newspapers will have you hating the people who are being oppressed, and loving the people who are doing the oppressing.” A classic quote from Malcolm X, who was assassinated 60 years ago today.
