‘Ae Fond Kiss’ is one of Burns’ most famous love songs, arising from his relationship with Agnes McLehose. The pair exchanged passionate letters as ‘Clarinda’ and ‘Sylvander’. The emotive song is a powerful farewell to McLehose who was moving to the West Indies. #ValentinesDay 💌❤️‍🔥🎶

'My love is like a red, red rose, that's newly sprung in June': I played it at the station, but Their piano's no' in tune. I plinked and plonked the ivories, And some were slow or mute, I'll no' be playin' there again, Of that, I ha'e nae doubt.
