Is “hey, just a poke, I don’t think I ever got that list of IP addresses” a thing a normal human would say? Would you say it to a manager?

This is the fundamental problem with basically any criticism of the media coverage of Trump: both these perspectives are true, and at least least one will always apply.

song and dance here is that Elon gets to pretend he’s doing massive cuts while attacking small programs, Trump gets to pretend he’s protecting Medicaid while house Rs draw up Medicaid cuts, and they both get to pretend they’re ending the deficit when signing a large tax cut

E/N MWO post: being pinned down on Luthien is a choice, and it's a choice some teams make.

Christ, what a world.

A more salient problem is that it's crossing the Rubicon. Once we all acknowledge that Trump is doing something straight-up unconstitutional, then either the system restrains him (it won't) or it's over and all bets are off. Oversimplifying, obviously, but still

man i try very very hard to not punch left as often as i used to but it really is fascinating how invisible the pro-palestinian protesters are now despite the President of the United States publicly announcing his intention to ethnically cleanse the Gaza Strip

I know this is going to sound like a right-wing talking point, but there really is a shift in parent attitude that is part of this problem.

I have not read it yet, but this paper may be insanely cool: www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1...

“Hey can you run this for me” turned into a three-and-a-half hour adventure with a cherry-pick and now I’m getting expensive “Mexican” from the yuppie Mexican bar-and-grille and no one can stop me.

I accept I’ve just lost this fight with the zoomers, but I absolutely hate getting a five minute YouTube video when the answer could easily have been two sentences, a verbatim block with a command, and two sentences.

Another reason I hate Oracle: useless error messages. Error: "not a group-by expression" Actual problem: I was ordering-by something that wasn't in the group-by.
