This is just our country now? Every single day it’s like “Today the Nazi laid off everyone who makes sure there aren’t shards of glass in your ice cream” and we’re all just supposed to shrug and keep going to work and paying our taxes? Pretty fucking bleak imho!!

To celebrate wildly over-estimating how much coffee I'd need to stay up for @theshot.net.au's (very enjoyable) Sunday Shot session, here's a thread on the latest emissions update for Aus As @pollyjhemming.bsky.social pointed out: Labor's tenure have been a continuation of Coalition policies....

I got laid off today, with the rest of 18F. 18F was an elite federal software shop. We made gov't websites work better, more efficiently for the American people. We saved taxpayers from getting screwed over by contractors. And were fired for it. We made this website to tell our story: 18f.org

Watched the cinematic masterpiece “Cocaine Bear”. Fine. They sure didn’t overthink things.

Do they? Do they really?

LOL. Tommy Cash is representing Eurovision at Estonia. Maybe all is not lost in this world.

Nothing ever changes.

Ontario voting for Ford. Because who better to fight Trump, than a guy with the same sleazy energy as Ford.

So much shade. So much shade. ABC News Director Justin Stevens on inquiries from “The Australian”, at yesterday’s Senate Estimates. “We’re flooded with their interest, but, despite the very small readership, we do engage and respond to a lot of their queries, quite regularly.”

JFC. What a waste of precious money. 1.1 million dollars on embarrassing themselves in court. The best time to settle is before court. The second best time is now. www.news.com.au/national/pol...

Bwahahaha. Mar-a-Lago was listed as "Kremlin Headquarters" for a little while on Google Maps. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

What if 2 million civil servants emailed Musk back with “I read Grimes’ tweet. You better call her. Your kid is sick.”

I originally dug these up to show @glengyron.bsky.social but the idea was to show up in Singapore one day and spend “old” money and see if anyone noticed it was coins from 40-50 years ago. 😃 Deja vu? The same guy who designed Australia’s coins (1966) did Singapore’s (1967) too. Stuart Devlin.

Last year taught me that life is far too short to be arguing with people who are determined not to listen, so I am adopting a no-exceptions immediate block policy if you sound like any of these squares because quite frankly if you’re going to snap out of it you’ll do it yourself.

I watched the movie 'Back In Action' absolutely by the numbers shlock. Fine I guess.

This is lovely. William Yang is an icon. www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle...

I realize now that I have a “trade deficit” with the store across the street. I walked over and bought a jug of milk. The store is abusing me and I’m tired of subsidizing it by buying something at a fair price that I want. I’m going to apply a tariff that will raise the future price of milk for me.

Ahahahahaha. Americans are going to starve. Year Zero baby.

"Social media is rife with images of Teslas vandalized with Swastikas and expletives. Dealerships are also being targeted. Vandals sprayed graffiti on a Tesla car showroom in The Hague, defacing the building with “No to Nazis” and sweary anti-fascist slogans" www.wired.com/story/elon-m...

I don’t think a DOJ official has ever been fragged by his own people but we might just see that here?

I really wish the Australian media would stop calling any weapon bigger than a potato gun "high-powered". By today's standards the M72 won't do much against a modern tank. This hyperbole/ignorance is something pro gun rights groups go on about a lot, and is an easy fix.

What could go wrong

“How much work is it to put one of these on someone’s desk and take a picture?” made me laugh more than it should have

What explains the unanimously sycophant coverage of Buttrose’s, frankly incoherent, testimony yesterday? Class solidarity? Journalists confusing her with Asher Keddie? It’s so all the same note and disconnected from reality that there must be some rational explanation.

Cute! Canada got their new Fentanyl Czar. Good luck doing nothing Czar Brosseau.

Australians think we have all kinds of direct trade links with the US that we simply don't.

"The Trump tariffs on our aluminium are a major test for the Albanese govt, could determine the election." FMD. Aluminium articles account for a bit over 1% of all our exports and just 13% of that goes to the USA. We really need to stop acting like pleasing Trump is vital to our economy

LOL. This is dumb as hell. AI is going to going to prescribe everyone nembutal (well, not everyone, we know how the biases work).

LOL. Not every me and every you then I guess.

The research draws on every tweet posted between 2017 and 2022 by every member of parliament with a Twitter (now X) account in 26 countries — Far-right populists much more likely than the left to spread fake news www.theguardian.com/world/2025/f...

Basically Australia sells no steel to the US incidentally. From: www.steel.org/wp-content/u...

So has Gina Rinehart been sitting in Mar-a-Lago cooking up a plan to destroy Canada's steel industry?

Can’t believe I have to do this all over again.

The third fatal plane crash in the US in a bit over a week. Failed state.

But not Australia. A truly shameful moment. The Albanese govt is an integrity vacuum.
