GLADIATOR II is weird. Some of it is masterful, even brilliant. Much of it feels abbreviated, rushed, almost like a thumbnail/assembly cut. A # of potentially potent moments zoom past when they should’ve been allowed to linger. Diffuses. Mescal & Pascal lack the gravitas to ground wobbly tones.
