Roll up...

Four excellent albums by Arthur Blythe on two discs. Lenox Avenue Breakdown is particularly brilliant. #Jazzsky

Good afternoon.

Monday morning music.

Easter Sunday morning music.

A great middle period Mac album.

Play me Old King Cole...

A couple of decent vinyl finds in Beckenham today. Three quid each.

It's Van der Graaf time.

Bluesy late night vibes from Stanley and his pals. #Jazzsky

Good Friday morning music. #Jazzsky

Some of the best music ever.

Good afternoon. Currently playing selections from this box set that I picked up from Fopp in the days when you couldn't go in there and not come out with a bargain (a tenner in this case).

This evening's CD selection.

Nice Hawkwind compilation for a Wednesday afternoon.

Henderson is one of my favourite sax players, and this is one of his best albums. Sheer brilliance from start to finish. #Jazzsky

Wednesday morning music.

Something of a bit different from Donald here. The voices may not be to everyone's taste, but this is a great album. Byrd is on top form, and the band is a killer - Hancock! Mobley! Burrell!

The Nightline by BATTS. I found in this record in a sale and thought I'd take a chance on it. Tanya Batt is an Australian singer-songwriter, a little reminiscent of Weyes Blood. Sharon Van Etten guests on one song. Nice record.

Good afternoon. Haven't played any Lindisfarne in a while, so here we are. There are some cracking songs on this album.

Camel - A Live Record. This is the excellent reissue with lots of bonus tracks.

Such was my disappointment with Around The Sun, it was a long time before I got around to buying Accelerate and this, and then only as charity shop buys. Accelerate is good, but this is great and an excellent swansong. I don't mind Around The Sun now.

Back to the jazz with some classic Shorter. #Jazzky

It's time for some more Italian prog. P.F.M. - River Of Life. Another excellent compilation from Esoteric Recordings.

Beggars Opera - Nimbus: The Vertigo Years Anthology. Nice compilation consisting of their first three (rather good) albums in their entirety, a couple of tracks released as a single, and a handful of songs from their (not so good, if these tracks are anything to go by) fourth album.

Monday morning music.

Darwin! by Banco del Mutuo Soccorso. Excellent, slightly bonkers, highly inventive Italian prog from 1972. Brilliant if you like that sort of thing, which I do.
