Really curious to hear what folks think - Chars currently have a circle around them representing HP. But I've been wondering lately if its cluttered and maybe that circle should only appear if you're in combat, or if their HP is not full. What do YOU think? #gamedev #indiedev #feedbackwanted

Super stoked today cos the cover artwork is finally done for Glitched Mirror. So so pleased with how this turned out, 100% worth the time and efforts. Gonna share with all the cool #indiedev #gamedev #gameart folks and hope your projects are doing well this week!

Awesome achievement from @claeysgames.bsky.social - go check out all the hard work and feel inspired for the day! #solodev need more love when it comes to #indiegame - remember ALL that stuff is done by one person!

Actually got this from google this morning 🤦

Managed to fix up the code just in time to finish the tutorial screen design for #screenshotsaturday, yay! Excited to see what other #solodev #indiedev #gamedev have been up to this week.

Sad to think that the things us #indiedev sometimes spend longest on in #gamedev are the same things the end player just takes for granted and never notices :) You can now walk between rooms in Glitched Mirror, throw stuff on the floor and it will still be there when you come back later!

I have 251 instances of a variable to refactor rn, = lots of boring coding :( So here's a scene from our last #indiedev #gamedev game when I tried testing particle effect collisions and accidentally created exploding popcorn instead.

I thought I was already aware of all the fantasy map generators out there - but Eric just brought my attention to a really interesting newcomer and it's free. Great resource for #indiedev #gamedev - check it out!

I'm immensely curious to know - how many #indiedev #solodev actually research their target audience *before* they start writing the game? Or do y'all start by writing a game and then looking for an audience?

Who else does this? You decide you're gonna spend the weekend doing something really productive, like coding your #indiedev game. But then you get distracted by making a pretty animation instead. It's a #gamedev thing fr. Imma write some co... change the speed of the anim next..

The Weekend is HERE! Happy #screenshotsaturday to all my #gamedev #indiegame friends. We haven't had any outdoor scenes in forever, so here's Diztrak throwing broccoli-barb all over. Lots of new level design incoming!

"Who are your target audience?" As a #gamedev consultant, I frequently find myself having to ask this question and you'd be surprised how many #indiedev have no idea. Make sure you know what your audience want - or how will you know when you've met the demands?

Yearly Reflection Time! Time to wish #indiedev #gamedev a happy new year. No matter what you achieved, take a moment to look back on it and appreciate the progress - it will motivate you for the coming year. - clip from an old pixel art game I was making. Redrawing Nena atm for Glitched Mirror!

Loot! I've made it so you can only see what's inside a container when you stand next to it. Unless you throw it on the floor ofc. How do other #indiedev #gamedev handle the problem of item overload - when players just throw stuff everywhere and it clutters the screen?

Art day again! OK I remembered #screenshotsaturday this time. Here's some cute fluffy monsters. Actually it was two views of the same but I decided if I changed the ears and added horns it was a cat-like and a sheep-like creature. #indiedev #solodev #gamedev

Fess up - who here is an NPC? Hoping everyone reading this is a real live human and not a bot! What a horrifying vision tho - a social media platform filled with fake accounts :( Makes me grateful for what an amazing place Bluesky has shown itself to be so far. So much energy and determination.

Refactoring day Working on combat code which isn't very visual, so here's an awesome cooking routine from fellow #solodev #indiedev #gamedev claeys - to remind us how important these kinda special touches are in a game. Show the players you actually care and put love into your game. More of these!!

Goldilocks shadows Have you ever spent hours as an #indiedev #solodev #gamedev making tiny adjustments to colors or shadows because you decided it looks better? (I'm on attempt 5 rn..)

Love when devs put the effort into those little details that really bring a scene alive. Awesome work from Clara here. #indiedev #gamedev #indiehorror Who else has cool stuff like this to share?

Happy Monday! For #solodev #indiedev #gamedev, it's the day we wake up after the weekend hoping the coding pixies have fixed the 122 compile time errors we left on Friday.. .. ..seems they're on vacation too ;( Happy holidays to all - stay safe and see you next year!

An art day today Drew a couple of cute monsters today, because why not. But then I found out it was #screenshotsaturday, so ig i'll screenshot photoshop today? A fluffy mouse for the snow zone and a slothbear. #gameart #indiegames #solodev #gamedev

"After" shot as promised.. But you know how you start on some small, simple thing and then end up rewriting a whole massive chunk of code instead.. NB. Turrets are traps so they don't activate until they're wired up. Consistency is so, so, important!! #indiedev #gamedev #solodev #gamedesign

Coming home at night :) (Timezones!)

Testing Turrets! Reworking the turret code and replacing placeholder graphics today! Here's a "before" shot so I can post an "after" when it's finished :) #indiedev #solodev

An icon question for y'all.. #gamedev #indiedev #uidesign So when discarding things from an inventory - is the old faithful "trash can" really the best icon to use? What's the most exciting or unique alternative you've ever seen?

Sad but true. We should always remember what it is we're making and who we're making it for.

Share your bugs day! if (player_enters_lethal_trap) say("No") then do_it_anyway(); share some of yours! #indiedev #gamedev #codinglife #gamedesign

Reflection day! So important in #Gamedev, especially for #indiedev, to reflect on where we were - in order to appreciate all the hard work it took to get where we are now. From just a few months ago - new UI, improved graphics and mobile-friendly layout now make such a world of difference.

Excited for the new "Glitched Mirror" graphic update! The transition to anime-style from placeholder graphics is almost complete and looks so crisp and clean!
