Take a photo of any lost single glove you see (wherever you are) from 1st Dec 2025 until Jan 31 2026. No single use disposable gloves please. Can we set a new world record this season. More idiocy from @lordscroley.bsky.social

For those wondering what #Glovewatch is. The idea is to photograph as many lost single gloves from anywhere in the world seen during the ‘Glovewatch Season’. New season is from 1st Dec 2025 to 31st Jan 2026. You participate by posting photos here. No single use gloves and only gloves seen in season

Day 62 and the final total for the 2024-25 Season is 1767 lost gloves. This is the fourth best total in the 11 seasons of Glovewatch. It’s been a strange season with the weather but you glovehunters have done great spotting. Thank you everyone for taking part & see you all again on the 1st December

Glovewatch 24-25 is over. As with previous seasons you have today to post any gloves you captured between the 1st December and 31st January but forgot to post before we declare the total tomorrow. So make sure you check any omissions and thank you for taking part in the madness

It’s the last day of the 2024-25 Season and let’s hope we go out with a great haul. Good luck to you all out there today and thank you to everyone who has participated. #glovewatch #singleglove #lostglove #lonelyglove

Day 60 and a total of 1687 lost gloves. Just two days of the season left so happy hunting. There will be no daily totals now as we maintain that frisson of surprise around what our finishing total will be. Enjoy your day #glovewatch #singleglove #lostglove #lonelyglove

Day 59 and it’s 1670 lost gloves. With just three days of the Season left it’s going to be hard to to hold onto being the third best total since Glovewatch began so do your best out there everyone #glovewatch #singleglove #lostglove #lonelyglove

Day 58 and it’s 1646 lost gloves. This is currently the third best Season in the 11 years of playing but in danger of slipping back to fourth so we need some good spotting in the last four days. #glovewatch #singleglove #lostglove #lonelyglove

Day 57 and the total is 1635 lost gloves. There have been some amazing hunters amongst you but it’s been a difficult season and currently we are 351 behind our record breaking season with just 5 days to go. #glovewatch #singleglove #lostglove #lonelyglove

Day 56 and it’s 1617 lost gloves found. In the year 1617 The Treaty of Pavia was signed between Spain and Savoy, under which Savoy returned Monferrato to Mantua. When cabbages were kings. #glovewatch #singleglove #lostglove #lonelyglove

1597 on Day 55 and just seven days left of the Season. In the year 1597 Sir Anthony Shirley, England’s “best-educated pirate”, raided Jamaica. In more recent times old Etonians have reeked their damage in other ways #glovewatch #singleglove #lostglove #lonelyglove

1562 gloves on day 54. In the year 1562 a severe hailstorm caused serious damage in the German town of Wiesensteig, leading to the demand that the Mayor arrest several women on charges of practicing witchcraft with six executed. There are people and politicians today who could believe this

1506 lost gloves on Day 52. In the year Charles II, the six-year-old son of King Philip of Castile, inherited his father’s title of Duke of Burgundy and was proclaimed “Lord of the Netherlands”. Funny to think that people used to just inherit their power … #glovewatch

Day 51 - 1468 total although I doubt history will remember yesterday for the numbers of lost gloves found. Good luck today #glovewatch #singleglove #lostglove #lonelyglove

Day 50 and 1439 lost gloves. In the year 1439 Johannes Gutenberg developed printing with movable type at Mainz. Happy hunting today and for those that wish to protect their sanity perhaps keep your eyes off the newspapers, media and social media for the next few days. #glovewatch #singleglove

Day 49 and we have crossed the 1400 mark with 1411 little lonely ones. Have a fabulous Sunday and enjoy the hunt . #glovewatch #singleglove #lostglove #lonelyglove

Day 48 and our total is 1371. It’s an average of 28.5 which would bring our Season total to 1771. This would be the fourth best lost glove haul falling behind the 23-24, 22-23 and 18-19 which was obviously pre Cyprus Ruling #Glovewatch

Day 47 and we have reached 1347 lost gloves. In the year 1347 Charles University in Prague was founded by a bull issued by Pope Clement VI. Sometimes I wonder if we have limited the opportunities for cattle to study since then. #glovewatch #singleglove #lostglove #lonelyglove

Day 46 brings a total of 1320 lost gloves - which in old money is twenty past one. Enjoy your day, hopefully spot lonely gloves and stay safe. #glovewatch #singleglove #lostglove #lonelyglove

Day 45 and a round 1300 lost gloves spotted by you wonderful glove detectives. The year 1300 was the last of the 12th century and Pope Boniface VIII began the practice of Roman pontiffs declaring a Jubilee or “Holy Year” to be observed every 100 years. #glovewatch #singleglove

Day 44 and 1241 lost gloves have been captured. In the year Snorri Sturluson, Icelandic saga writer, was murdered by Gissur Þorvaldsson, an emissary of King Haakon IV of Norway. Critics eh? #glovewatch #singleglove #lostglove #lonelyglove

Day 42 and the final third of the Season and 1169 gloves. In the year 1169 Henry II made an effort to end the strife between him and his wife, Queen Eleanor of Aquitaine, in order that he could dally in western Herefordshire with his mistress, Rosamund Clifford. Where’s The Crown when you need it

Day 41 and it’s 1137 lost hand warmers located. In the year 1137 King Gruffudd ap Cynan of Gwynedd died after a 56-year reign, succeeded by his son Owain Gwynedd who together with his other brothers, Cadwaladr and Cadwallon, worked to revive the power of Gwynedd in Wales. Aren’t gloves fascinating

Day 40 and it’s 1094 lost gloves. Today begins the last third of the 2024-25 Season. It looks like it’s not going to be setting a new record but it could be our third best. Thank you to everyone taking part and for letting me know what fun and frustration #Glovewatch brings. #singleglove #lostglove

Just a reminder that everyone, no matter where you live is welcome to play Glovewatch (thank you Andy (for the top spot)

It was a case of ‘commentators curse’ as yesterday brought only 15 lost gloves. It’s still currently the third best Season and there’s still over a third to go so good luck out there and thanks for being a part of #glovewatch #singleglove #lostglove #lonelyglove

Day 38 finds our total at 1040 lost gloves - a much better day for spotting. It would appear the research done by the Free University of Seething (FUS) that concluded that colder weather contributes to an increase in dropped gloves may be correct. #glovewatch #singleglove #lostglove #lonelyglove

So close. Day 37 and it’s 999 lost gloves so today we shall tip into the 1000’s. It’s definitely cold in the uk so we may see an increase in finds. Be careful out there. #glovewatch #singleglove #lostglove #lonelyglove

Day 36 brought a total of 983 lost gloves so we didn’t quite break through the 1000 total but hopefully today should do it. I’ve had a mixed season so far - spotted 4 and managed to lose 2 of my own . #glovewatch #singleglove #lostglove #lonelyglove

Day 35 and total is 974 lost gloves . If the weather is kind we could break through the 1000 barrier. #glovewatch #singleglove #lostglove #lonelyglove

Day 34 and 947 lost gloves. Could we break through the 1000 this weekend? Make sure you dress for the weather. #glovewatch #singleglove #lostglove #lonelyglove

The 3rd of January is traditionally known as the day for flamboyant gloves on posts

Day 33 and the total is 914 lost gloves. There’s frost and ice in the UK asp take care when you’re spotting lost gloves today #glovewatch #singleglove #lostglove #lonelyglove

New Year’s Day started the second half of the season and brought our total to 895 lost gloves. The weather is on the turn with a cold spell arriving so more gloves will be worn and the possibilities of accidental discarding should increase. #glovewatch #singleglove #lostglove #lonelygloveclub

A very Happy New Year to you all. The Season has reached the half way point with 873 lost gloves spotted. This is the third best total at this point in the eleven years of Glovewatch. Enjoy the first day of 2025 and stay safe #glovewatch #singleglove #lostglove #lonelyglove

Day 30 and the total is 846 lost gloves. Today marks the halfway point in the 24/25 Season. Doesn’t look like we are on track to break any records but the weather is about to change so … #glovewatch #singleglove #lostglove #lonelyglove

A very slow spotting day yesterday so at the end of Day 29 we have 819 lost gloves located. Enjoy another ‘Eve of Eve’ day and keep your eyes peeled (revolting expression) #glovewatch #singleglove #lostglove #lonelyglove

We broke through the 800 total on Day 28 as 805 lonely hand covers were spotted. Personally it’s been a quiet season so far but there’s plenty of time to go. Happy Sunday all. #glovewatch #singleglove #lostglove #lonelyglove

780 single gloves at the end of day 27 creates a tapestry of loss. Thank you to everyone taking part in the Glovewatch Season and here’s hoping you have a fabulous Saturday #glovewatch #singleglove #lostglove #lonelyglove

Boxing Day brought our total to 762 lost gloves. There’s a chilly wind so there may well be a few out there today. Enjoy whatever you’re doing and thanks for spreading the word and getting more people involved #glovewatch #singleglove #lostglove #lonelyglove

There were presents under trees, on pavements and in other places. Christmas Day brought our total of lost gloves to 733. Have a good Boxing Day and enjoy your walks #glovewatch #singleglove #lostglove #lonelyglove

Day 24 and 714 lost gloves seen. A very Merry Christmas to you all and the hope you have a wonderful day. Perhaps spare a moment for a thought of those who may be alone today or those missing a loved one and maybe send a little message . Take care x

If you’ve never watched It’s a Wonderful Life give it a go. It’s not schmaltzy. It’s raw. It’s very 2024. About the little guy against the machine. Humans against economies. About why we matter. About the difference a life can make. About why we should stay alive.
