Sadly, Andy Kim is right. But it is also very tricky to do correctly, so that the voting public comprehends that this is Congress struggling to regain control of the government from Musk and some terrible Trump appointees, rather than Democrats being spoil-sports.

Americans have relied far more on norms and decency in our leaders than on laws. As we saw with Trump using the law to slow the cases against him, or this with Bolton, and similar with others, Trump does not play according to norms and decency.

He's right. So many are just letting it happen. In the case of our businesses, maybe they've become so used to dealing with authoritarian governments elsewhere, they think they can handle it in the U.S. as well.
