i made a super simple portfolio site template for anyone who wants to make their own art website but isn't sure where to start! code includes a responsive image gallery with a lightbox & easy customization options. it's free & hopefully helpful for people! kayleerowena.com/blog/2025/co...

I find it so egregious that Pinterest uses imagery on its site to train GenAi models. Imagery they do not own, and for the most part, is uploaded by third party users without the consent of creators. GenAi industries depend on exploitation to function and it’s gross futurism.com/pinterest-da...

My fellow comickers, please be VERY careful if you plan to visit the USA for comic cons etc. If you want to sell books, sketches, art prints, or even just autographs, make sure you double-check the terms of your visa / ESTA.

Unlike other services that want to take away your access to things you’ve bought, when you buy digital comics from 2000 AD you can download and keep them forever – with no ‘DRM‘ software or restrictions bit.ly/4h2csdj

This is really interesting. Groundbreaking study on the value of libraries and “third places.” “A whopping 82% of people who used the library’s physical space and 79% of people who physically attended programs reported more optimism regarding the future, compared to only 58% of digital-only users.”

I'm very worried for my friends in education who call me daily with new crises they're facing and new fears they have. This resource offers real tangible advice and understanding. For anyone, anywhere. Share it.

Microsoft's own research confirms something that was already pretty obvious: relying on a text generating machine to come up with answers erodes critical thinking, and is a method favoured by those who never liked doing critical thinking in the first place advait.org/files/lee_20...

Bird nests made from anti-bird spikes?! 🤯 Hi, I'm a nest researcher 👋 and new here on BlueSky, sharing the craziest #bird nests I've ever found. 👀 Today, I’m sharing my discovery of rebellious birds that build nests out of anti-bird spikes. And honestly, it's like telling a joke... A thread. 🧵

And now for Tomorrow's Government

A thousand times.

Yes, you should buy Judge Dredd: A Better World but a bunch of my other Dredd GNs are in this sale. The Small House and Titan (both with Henry Flint) are just £7.49 each.

Trump is signing everything the Heritage Foundation puts in front of him as the stopproject2025comic.org said he would. We could barely get media outlets to look at this before the election, but maybe now they'll link to it to help explain what's happening to our country ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Anyone working with both Final Draft & Scrivener for film or TV projects? How do you make them work seamlessly together, so you’re not just duplicating & exporting material from FD and moving it to Scrivener so that everything is in one place? Is there an optimum way to integrate them? #help #tips

"this other LLM is cheaper" isn't actually good, given the actual problem of theft, putting people out of work and not actually being any good at what it does, but I will admit I am here for Sam Altman having a really, really bad day.

GenAI has polluted image search results, especially for animal pics. It’s now basically impossible to find accurate art references. Enter this: a repository of open-access, AI-free images of wild & exotic taxa. Artists creating *without AI* have blanket permission for derivative/transformative use.

Was flicking through the JUDGE DREDD: A BETTER WORLD TPB last night and still amazed what @henryflint.bsky.social achieved with the visual storytelling throughout. This is just one two-page spread.

My Public Lending Right (PLR) statement this year - by far the biggest titles for me were my YA books - the Roy of The Rovers GNs. Kids use libraries. Especially in a time of cost of living crisis. Which is one of the reasons it's so important to keep funding libraries.
