Well, I forgot my roommate from my summer 2012 apartment sublet in D.C. is now the Secretary of the Army, until tonight, when he told Fox News there is a troop on the moon

My favourite one like this is Don Henley getting Brian to autograph a copy of Pet Sounds. Brian signed it "thanks for all the great music" then thought for a second, crossed out "great", and wrote "good"

real contender for the defining quote of american christianity here

My finger slipped while playing Balatro, selling a joker that was giving me +42 mult and had a Blueprint beside it. If those words mean anything to you, you'll understand the pit that opened in my stomach

okay shut it down we found the best and hottest take.

Historians and political scientists spend decades trying to determine the influence of money in politics and Musk just tweets out "I bought the election"

One of the best drawings of fish and chips I have ever seen

See, I always love it when a film throws a bunch of money at a couple of academics like this. Fuck yeah Professor Adler, go hog wild in the set shop being uptight about the color of the stone walls

Right now, in some parallel Universe, we're all praising the elegant plotting of Ruby's two season story arc. I bet it's the "Chaos with Ed Miliband" dimension.

You would never catch me complaining about being rammed by Charles Leclerc

Right, buckle up. Let's say I'm in the omnipotent position of being able to choose the Doctor Who showrunner, Doctor and everything. Basically, the show needs a quick fix, NOW. Let's see what I'll do... Let's start with showrunner, where IMO two obvious choices emerge.

Iʼm not sure about some of #DoctorWho, including how this bit is developed, but: The Doctor risking a substantial victory and a happy ending for the life of one child is perfect. They would never settle for less — giving up their life, tearing the sky apart, just so one more innocent life is safe.

Kinda love that RTD wrote that absolutely as if 12 million people were still watching. It’s the pictures that got small #DoctorWho

Me sitting through that whole episode. #DoctorWho

What a difference 20 years makes. While planning his first series of Doctor Who, RTD asked JK Rowling to write an episode. Now, the fascist enforcing a heteronormative reality reads from a book modelled on her most famous creation

OMG the marketplace of ideas is real

The character is but I feel a bit sad that the destined keeper of the flame will be the professional-but-unambitious Big Finish instead of something as scrappy and wild as the VNAs.

Put it down? At 1,200 pages I can barely pick it up!

Having thought about, Iʼm very keen on Wish World doing a Donʼt Worry Darling and picking apart a stifling social order informed by nostalgia. Just wish it didnʼt also succumb to nostalgia for classic Who villains at the same time (no slight against Archie Panjabi, who does a great job)

#DoctorWho felt like RTDʼs usual tricks, barrelling ahead enjoyably leaving total nonsense in its wake in a world thatʼs not like it should be and a villain from the olden days. The cliffhanger was trying but the impact was muted by too many questions circling over things!

Iʼm a huge Doctor Who fan. I have opinions on things like Faction Paradox, season 6B and Robert Holmes. But Iʼve never actually seen The Mark of Rani, and maybe tonight is the time to rectify that...

Quite apart from doing this in the first place, the idea that you’d publish something without first reading it back is just baffling to me. Being too lazy to write *and* edit betrays a staggering lack of respect for your audience.

this reminds me that, given the geography of my childhood (an hour's drive from any movie theater) I'm pretty sure I first read the Marvel Comics adaptation before I saw the movie. And so expected Yoda to look more "Tolkien-esque" than he did.

I think you have to say that the mission to create legal clarity had mixed results at best

Open a small bookshop that isnʼt under pressure to actually turn a profit where I can sit in the corner and read while customers try to figure out if things are cheaper on Amazon

Interesting to see Freddie Fox in Doctor Who this week when we had his cousin Laurence on two weeks ago.

Russell T Davies, worried that #DoctorWho might not get another series, chucking every fan-wank idea heʼs ever previously rejected as being too inside baseball. Fuck it, why not?

The Mousetrap! Shame that a throwaway gag in Private Eye spoiled whodunnit for me about 15 years ago, but still!

My pet theory about Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning, unencumbered by any knowledge or research, is that the scene where Haley Atwell was recruited was *shot* as Rebecca Ferguson being recruited, and Atwell was Find and Replaced into it quite late in production.
