Damn. Full on Layla tease here on this Movin’ Out from Steamboat 2019. Peter hits it hard on the keys around 3:40’. Rick dances around it, then it’s a Layla/Movin’ Out mashup for the rest of the jam. Wild.

Gotta say, as I’ve been making my way thru the JOTY second round on my own time, it’s been an absolute treat to revisit these jams. While I loathe the “bickering” sometimes, the process is a joy. The top 16 seeds for the most part are incredibly strong. Well done to the rankers.

Just looking ahead to the rest of my 2025. Have 22 shows on the calendar so far for the rest of the year. None are Goose. Hoping for some SE shows at some point. But if not, still have quite a diverse set of shows to see me through. Live music. It’s the truth. Even when it’s not Goose.

There are few times as a parent where I feel validated. One of those is seeing your kids beam with pride and happiness on achieving the dreams and goals they set for themselves. Today, seeing my youngest get accepted into the college and program of her dreams, is tops. Go Hokies!

3 hour layover in Nashville. I guess now is as good a time as any to catch up on JOTY 2024. Puzzled how DB Flamingos made this list. Attendance bias to the Nth degree. If I’m voting segues, definitely moves forward. Jam doesn’t do much for me at all though. I guess I’m unsophisticated.
